Thanks Steff :)

Does anyone know the detailed transfer speeds for this? It says USB2.0, but that's just for the USB. These external micro-drives are often pretty slow (I just sold one of mine because it's too slow), so I'd like to see what the drive specs are.

Does anyone know whether the microdrive can be removed to be used in PocketPCs/Digital Cams?

Looks like the drive is ejectable from the reader so the reader can be used for other CF cards. Also check this page.

I tried the drive from one of these in my Dell Axim X50v & the drive although detected wasn't recognised as a valid drive. I also tried to get it into my Canon Ixus 500 but the drive was too fat to fit into the CF card slot!

microdrive is a bit bigger than normal CF

should be possible to be used in a camera that accepts microdrive...

Wouldn't reccomend it, have had the same for 3 months and it keeps failing after heavy transfer- the PC then won't recognise, or just reports faulty USB device. When I give it a couple of hours break it works fine...till the next failure. The good news is that the data is intact. The issue is with the reader itself, not with the microdrive, when in fault and try the normally working with it other CF it reports the same errors. Tried it on other machines to make sure it's the reader. On the way for RMA or refund.
The microdrive may be used in dig. camera as long as the camera supports microdrive- they are slightly fatter and the power requirements are higher IMHO.

As for the transfer speeds- have a look:

"keeps failing after heavy transfer" Could that be down to heat? Have you tried the card in another CF reader?

Hope that explains it:)
