The price seems brilliant for a life time warranty pen driver. Beat play's 10.99 if know they offer the free delivery. Also find the speed for this driver compare with Corsair.

Scan offer free shipping to Avforum members.

The order needs to be for £20 exluding VAT though to qualify.

I will never use Scan again since they accused me of being a thief. I had some missing ram from an order years ago and they would not replace it. Basically called me a lier. Disgusting service.

That sucks. On the contrary, they've been great for me!

Don't think that is correct as I ordered a mouse from them and it only came to £15 and got free delivery.

I have just tried again for this item and it is offering me free delivery during checkout process.

'Carriage: City Pack: All Day Delivery by 17:30 £0.00'

Not sure if they have changed their terms or if i'm being lucky (would make a change) :)

for the free delivery it's not set in stone but you are supposed to spend more than £20 to use it. As for their service I've only had good experiences with them
#7
If you continue to use the free del under £20. They will remove it from your Account.

Where does it say that?

How was Yorkie supposed to input his £15 order without endangering his free delivery status?

It specifically states on AVForums:

“to qualify for free delivery on all orders over £20 (excluding VAT)”

It is odd that Scan don’t enforce it by disabling the offer if you purchase less than £20 excluding VAT. The AVForums page does clearly state the requirements so we were warned.

“Other important stuff
To qualify for free delivery, there is a minimum order value of £20 excluding VAT.”

I took advantage of the free delivery for life offer from Scan a while back, I received this email on Jan 25th of this year:

Regarding the free carriage incentive we would like to inform you of the following fair usage policy, which will now be applied with immediate effect.

Our free carriage incentive has been extremely successful, however unfortunately a small minority of customers have consistently been abusing the incentive by placing extremely small orders for 1 or 2 pounds, this is no longer feasible to offer free carriage against these orders.

Of course we do not wish to retract the offer so instead we have introduced a fair usage policy with immediate effect where we would ask for a minimum order value of £ 20.00 Ex Vat to entitle you to receive free carriage.

Please keep in mind this fair usage policy when placing further orders so we can keep this incentive live for everybody to take advantage of. Any orders placed under £ 20.00 Ex Vat will be placed on 'Hold' and you will be contacted to confirm if.

1) You would like to add the standard carriage charge to the order starting from £ 5.95 + Vat

2) Add additional items to the order

3) Cancel the order so a full refund can be processed

This fair usage policy has been in place already with 3 of the other Free carriage incentives we also currently run has been successful and received very well by our customer's :)

We hope we can look forward to your future business with us.

Please feel free to contact myself directly of you have any further queries.

Regards

Really? I ordered my case last week and received on the next day :p

I don't rate them much either, they seem to have a non existant stock tracking system, you can order stuff and it will be a gamble if it shows or not, might have changed though!

Thanks. In the light of that and recent posts I'll give them I miss. Plenty of good suppliers out there, don't need to deal with duds.

I've never had any problems when ordering from Scan personally, what I didn't mention earlier and maybe why I have got away with a few small orders and free shipping is that I have also put a couple of big orders in with them over the last couple of years i.e. £1000 & £400.
#20
Every year they get retailer of the year in Custom PC, How they do is beyond me/ They are ok but as Khizman says there stock tracking is terrible.
#21
10 minutes walk from my house, pity they're shut today.
If you'd ever seen the queues at Scan you'd know they must be getting some things right.

That wasnt a USB stick - that was a hard drive which is far more likely to break if dropped

Warning:
I have reason to believe that there is a possibility that the scan.co.uk listed item may not be the faster version. It looks like Super Talent sell a variety of speeds http://www.supertalent.com/datasheets/PN_system.pdf and the manufacturers code listed on scan (DE-RBK) only describes the design and colour, not the speed. I agree that the aforementioned Super Talent Model tests (http://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/1126/super_talent_dh_series_4gb_pen_drive/index.html) is really fast. However the model tested is not mentioned, just that is it a part of the DH series. The Supertalent website does not clearly mention what the DH series entails (http://www.supertalent.com/products/stt_usb_detail.php?sid=67c6a1e7ce56d3d6fa748ab6d9af3fd7), and the scan.co.uk item does not neccisarily have ot be the same.

Several websites list the same item with good but not REALLY fast speeds, contradicting the review (http://www.supermediastore.com/superflash-ed-r-4gb-usb-20-usb-flash-drive-black.html, http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?name=USB4G_120X#)

Therefore I have sent an email to scan asking what model number is it specifically, and I would be curious if anyone who gets the product could please email me and comment on the actual speeds of the item purchased.

FYI , it's not passport size. It measures 60 x 36.5 x 11.7mm

Take out a ruler and draw it on a piece of paper if it helps you understand better.

Emasu .. do you really have that much time to play with semantics?

It is a USB device and it is a portable drive ..

What are you on about?
#29
The one at play has a small hard drive in it. This is flash memory. This has no moving parts. The one at play is considerably more fragile than this one.

They're two fairly distinct and separate things, so shouldn't really be compared.

Scan replied:
"We can confirm we currently stock is the DG series ( DG_RBK )

http://www.supertalent.com/products/stt_usb_detail.php?sid=f7177163c833dff4b38fc8d2872f1ec6"

Therefore the review posted in the description of this deal is not correct. And the USB flash drive listed is a lot slower than that reviewed! Sorry for anyone who was mislead by the deal and purchased it under false information.

Oh now it's a slow one :(

Does ANYONE know where I can get the 200x Super Talent in the UK? The A-Data PD7 is £23 for 2 GB from Komplett...
