Doesn't really support 4k as it can only handle 30Hz at that resolution.
It also lacks HDCP for UHD video content

Does anyone know of a decent splitter that will do my Sky Q box. I've wasted money on three different types now and none of them manage the 4K signal (The best I can get is 1080p). It has to be the splitter that's letting me down as the box has no problem with 4K to both TVs separately with the splitters removed.
Thanks for any support guys.

For some reason it has a promotion applied on it and showing as £3.99 for the item when I added to basket.

Wish it was in mine! Still showing the standard £10 for me. Not paying that but I'd have given it a try at £4!

I notice on the page it says buy 2 get £6 off so it sounds like they might have erroneously applied the £6 off despite you only getting one...

Mine won't do that - it just charges me £7.99 at the basket after code. How did you get £3.99?

I'm wanting to split the output from the new Virgin Tivo V6 box and was looking for a similar solution. It outputs at 4K too. The thing is only one of the two sets I want to output to is 4K, the other is 1080P. I suppose I would have to accept 1080P on both sets? or is there a type of adapter that can feed the 4K signal to the 4K TV and downsample to 1080P for the other set?

Probably wishful thinking but would be nice if there was!

OK, I guess I'll be the one to say it.

EJK created his account 2 months ago, never posted any deals then suddenly posts two deals in 20 minutes for the same 3rd party seller on Amazon (http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/set-4-multipurpose-bike-stroller-high-vis-water-resistant-lights-batteries-included-2589424). A seller that's happy to ignore Amazon rules by providing free samples for review (a practice banned about a month ago) and given that such sellers almost daily make email offers to HUKD members of cash or freebies for posting reviews (http://www.hotukdeals.com/ask/anyone-been-receiving-emails-about-posting-deals-hukd-return-for-products-money-2564429).... am I the only one that can smell fish ?

I cant really stop your imagination from running wild. I bought one for myself and posted the deal. In any case you are welcome to voice your opinion.

Thanks

My suspicion is that the 1080p set would break the HDCP handshake and force both displays into 1080p mode with restricted audio formats. I've not fully researched the subject yet but I believe there are devices which can spoof the EDID of a display to stop this happening, they're not particularly common yet as it severely violates HDCP 2.2 hardware guidelines and opens the door to piracy.

Unfortunately that unit has the same problem, it would fail the handshake with the Sky Q box and drop the resolution.
You need a splitter with HDCP 2.2 to get a native signal, plus HDMI 2.0a if you need it to pass through HDR content.
Older AV receivers suffer similar issues.

there's no such thing as a HDR HDMI cable, you do not need HDMI 2.0a cables for HDR, you do need HDMI 2.0a port tho.

also the one I posted is a switch, not a splitter so it shouldn't actually do it anything to the feed. if you want a splitter, it's like £100.
