My local Asda has just started stocking this last week..

From the site:

"A refreshing, cold filtered Pilsner Beer with a smooth character and outstanding quality Traditionally brewed in Holland using crystal clear water, the finest hops, select grains and pure yeast "

More info on the Hollandia website:
http://www.hollandiabeer.com/

Yes, it is the Cold filtered 3% version, but it tastes fine and at only 90p for FOUR cans it's a bargain!

Available online and instore too!

I think it's the new name for Asda smartprice larger. I've tried it an it tastes surprisingly good. Far, far nicer than Tennants Canned larger IMO.

I suppose this is only a bargain if your purpose of drink is to get drunk.
(there are cheaper but slightly more hazardous options - methalated spirits being an obvious choice for local vagrants)

If you prefer to drink to enjoy the taste of alcohol - I'm willing to pay a bit more for something other than poorly yeastified water.

Why don't you try it before talking rubbish? I have tried it and it does taste fine. The alcohol content is only 3% so it's not your best option for getting drunk.

Funniy enough I'm getting the same warnings for anything I search on Google. It even triggers the same warning on a search for "Hotukdeals"!! Now, "Hotukdeals" can most certainly damage my bank balance but I'm not so sure about my pooter!

I suspect Google are having a few technical problems....

Try it before you criticise the taste! Tell ya what, drop round and I'll give you a can to try-free!

Not all of us drink with the sole purpose of getting drunk, btw..

Not happening now when I do the same search - probably a Google problem.

You could try petrol, of course. A bargain at around 90p a litre - take your own bottle.

Stella no alcohol, how many different types of stella are Inbev going to brew.
They are spoiling a wonderful brand name, and the best lager on the planet!
#21
is this beer nice mate?
#22
I got some of this before Christmas and didn't like it to be honest.
I'm not usually too fussy but i thought this tasted sweet and didn't like it.
#23
Goggle had this problem last week or the week before, they blamed human error.....

as for the beer, its not to bad, had 1 left in the fridge but someones drank it, think its about thr 4.5% mark
#24
Google was having the same problems Saturday before last. There's a thread on Yahoo Answers about it. The world seemed to be having the same problem for a few mins when searching with Google.

As for the lager I think I'll give it a miss.
#25
Hot......

for tramps and homeless people..................
#26
When Heineken did cold filtered larger, that was my fave, they stopped it in the late 90's if I remember correctly.

It was really easy to drink and a good mid strength larger (3.8%).

Might give this a go
#27
I supped some of this when I was working in Holland and found it ok. At 90p for 4 why not try it and if you don't like it you can always use it for making a nice shandy.

The above obviously doesn't apply to anybody north of Watford. :whistling:
#28
Being Dutch this is an insult to our beers. This stuff is only sold outside The Netherlands, which says enough.
#29
This stuff is fine, quite refreshing and has got some flavour to it. I wouldn't recommend it for tramps or homeless people as you'll need a fair few of these to keep the cold out, best bet is the old fortified british wine or delicious Jenkem .

I was just thinking before that the design of these Hollandia cans looks like a bit of a rip off of the old Heineken Cold Filtered cans.

It was definately less than 10 years ago that they stopped making that Cold Filtered stuff maybe about 5 years or something?
#31
strange when it was posted by two people on Friday it was voted cold today it is a hot deal.
It actually tastes ok for a 3% lager well worth 90p

Yes it may be gnat's p*ss in terms of proper lagers (I prefer Budweiser or Stella generally) but my argument is this. If you've got a choice between an ice cold can of this stuff to drink on a hot day at 22.5p a can, or a can of sugary sh*te Cokey Cola at about 40p a can then I'll go for the gnat's p*ss any time!
#33
AOK for quenching a curry but a bit light on the palate on its own (in my humble opinion etc.). Not totally bland but as has been said, slightly sweet.
Hard to beat for 30p a pint.

stella is only 5% now not the 5.2% we use to love!

Aye, I'm still pretty annoyed about that.

Is the genuine Belgain stuff still 5.2% do you know?

Alternatively, why not approach some old tramp and ask him to urinate in your mouth! Poor lager :x:x:
