Costco have books of stamps, with about an 8% discount, working out to just under 43p per first class stamp, when the rise to 60p in a few weeks is taken into account, this will represent a return of nearly 40% - easily beating any other return on savings etc.

I have stocked up with a couple of hundred (I work from home so use a lot anyway) and for me this will save me a lot over the next few months.

I know this is not for everyone as membership is required, but for those able to access it is a good oppertunity.

Other retailers who were discounting such as superdrug have been limiting purchases, and now appear to be running out of stocks, Costco seem to have large supplies.

They also have 2nd's and large stamps at similar discounts

This panic buying of stamps must be making the Royal Mail a mint. Will they even need a prise rise.

Was in my local Post office the other day and they claimed they had no 2nd class stamps at all and wouldn't be getting any in until the new price rise!

I posted a deal last Saturday to get stamps from WHsmith using their giftcards. The deal being that if you buy a greetings card you can get a £15 card for £10 then spend on stamps. It worked for me but within hours of posting the post had disappeared with no reason given.

Surely Costco's prices will also go up today?

Edit - Noticed after commenting that this was posted over a week ago but only just made HOT.

None in costco derby at all apart from 2nd class

I hope no-one drops a clanger with this purchase. If you look closely at the stamps, they have a small oval perforation in each one. Sometimes when removing a stamp the perforated section remains on the sheet and the stamp has a perforated hole in it, making it USELESS. We complained via email to the Post Office who simply said, "take them back with receipt and get a refund". But no receipt.

My local Costco limited customers to 5 units of 1st and 2nd class stamps .. they then ran out :(

The large letter stamps are a waste of money, you would have been better off buying the 1st class stamps
or even better second class.

Last time there was a price hike, Costco carried on charging at the old price, as they had bought the stamps at trhe old price, and they never charge more than cost +15%. Brilliant retailer Costco.

I thought there was a price increase? Stuff I send is 35p cheaper :)
