Horrible but good for that price

Sadly not even that low price can compensate for the disgusting change to the recipe inflicted by Kraft.

Yes Creme Eggs always used to be sickly sweet, but at least the lush Cadbury's Dairy Milk chocolate shell made up for it. Krafts change to the chocolate just left it as s sickly sweet fondant, encased in a tasteless but sickly sweet brown shell.

Oh and not even content with pillaging the descent chocolate recipe, they then shrunk the size and put only 5 in a box. Do they not get the whole idea of the dozen and half dozen real egg concept?

Ice cold for me.

Mum gave me a Creme Egg easter egg last night (a small one which includes a Creme Egg in the box). The Creme Egg is probably disguised by the fondant - but I did feel the milk chocolate egg tasted "different", more sugary - not that distinctive smooth Cadbury taste I've known over the years.

Queue the Cadbury's Cream Egg deals. Starting at 79p. Tomorrow, in Tesco 78p, Wednesday Asda 77p, Thursday Sainsbury's 76p... all the way down to 50p. That'll give us the usual few weeks of Creme Egg related deals after Easter.

Fwiw, whilst the recipe has changed, I still like Creme Eggs. I do feel it's time Cadbury's did a U-Turn on the whole kraft BS, make a big deal out of it, get a load of free PR and make their customers happy.

I don't think they're disgusting they're decent enough just a bit watery so the fondant doesn't taste as creamy. A bit like IMO over-rated and over-priced Lindt Lindor 'truffles'.

Yummy. Thanks OP.

I thought we as a people were meant to be boycotting these and telling Kraft not to mess with our diabetes inducing institutions.

What was the point of defeating Bonaparte two centuries ago, Hitler in the last century and Juncker in the present one just to let a foreign power destroy such an important part of our nation's DNA?

Great deal - Although I still have some left from the recent Quidco free offer - not many mind...

Got 2 quid cash back from click snap (quuidco) for buying 5 pack at £1.65 at Asda Friday 14th.

So got paid 35p to buy cream eggs. This deal is sub zero in comparison!
#25
so this is national then?

Great deal if you want to put spoons of sugar in your mouth! Cold from me however as I do not want diabetes.

Do you choose the special needs patient look and wear one of those retarded helmets when you take your Raleigh Bomber for a spin up Epping Forest by any chance?

I would have leapt at this before Kraft changed them. They used to have a lovely thick bit of chocolate at the top and bottom. My wife bought me one the other day and I couldn't even finish it; I threw half of it in the bin. Now the chocolate is not only thin, but it tastes like...well I'm not sure what but nothing like chocolate and the fondant is horrible too. I wouldn't take a box of these if they were free. Better to buy a reduced egg from one of the proper chocolate makers.

i saw what you did there, used 'descent' instead of 'decent' due to the quality being lower:{

am i the only one who cant tell the difference in taste between pre and post kraft eggs?

Maybe its due to the fact i wolf these down, before the brain has had time to realize what has happened

I don't think Cadbury Creme Eggs have ever been produced or advertised as using "Dairy Milk" chocolate, have they?

Thank you for that very useful comment. It helped me to clean my dishwasher bypass under the armpit of my carpet cleaner, finding cats of turnip.
