Brrrr getting a number of cold votes already-should I delete the post before hell freezes over me? Hehehehe
#2
Why have people voted this cold/ Sounds like a reasonable deal I've voted it hot.
#3
Price doesn't include taxes. Also they charge disproportionate amounts if you're travelling with little ones.
#4
It does include taxes but they are few and far between, saying that there are still £10 all in flights on some routes for end of march, for instance Stansted to Palma, a very nice march break.
#5
cheap flights = global warming - only hot thing about this!

This is a win win situation. Cheap flights in the winter, then hotter summers due to emissions!
#7
By the time you get to the 'Pay Now' screen the £5 each usually turns into £120 for two!

Can't blame them for trying!
#8
hot deal! shame the wife's a teacher so i either go on my own or pay normal prices! :(

Yeah, its gonna be minus 9 isnt it, tonight?
#10
They really are only £5 IF YOU CAN FIND THEM...they say £5 no taxes and that is all you pay if you only take a carry on case and use an electron card.
#11
I understand it does feel a con because you have extra hidden add ons like card charges and stuff like baggage-still after all that it really is a bargain-rational thinking here please folks.

Plus if you are going away for a few days-everything fits nicely into the hand luggage-why bother carrying a heavy suitcase-lugging it around plus getting a Visa Electron card is easy peasy-I still don't get why people can't be bothered to get their finger out and apply for one-co-operative bank-just one call for about 15 mins and I got their card or even easier just get the Post Offices card..

To put into perspective when I tell my mates from abroad in India-they really are dumbstruck when I tell them that you can go as cheap as £10 return to Spain.

They think I must be travelling on some dodgy airline!
#12
If ya can go on a Monday till Thursday £20.00 return for two is voted HOT from me...!

I just took a look, East Midlands - Belfast is £5 on almost every day of this promotion.

How can you vote that cold?
#17
I booked 8 flights from Birmingham to Palma from 29th Jan to 3rd Feb for a credit crunching total of 16p. I did book them back in Nov though :-D
#18
my mates stuck in marrakeesh after ryanair cancelled two flights. They did absolutely FA to help out. Wouldn't touch these clowns with a bargepole.
#19
Tried to book for liverpool to belfast, at the end of the booking they want an extra £30 for each bag that you take on, family of 5 an extra £150, not that good a deal for me.
#20
+ £4 credit card charge PER ONE WAY (so £8 return), costly travel to and from far away out of town airports, sell you all the basics including physical check in, boarding pass, check in luggage, overpriced food, etc etc

The cheap deal is for passengers not bags. Ryanair make their money from extras, if you don't pay the extras you get to travel for peanuts.

Please stop whining. You use the right card [ELECTRON] and there is no charge

Please stop whining. If you don't like out of town airports please don't use Ryanair. But, for instance, Dublin airport is as near as you can get to Dublin without whining about the aircraft noise. Please make your mind up.

Please. Stop whining. They forced you to buy and eat their food. the fiends!

Please, get a life, buy BMI, BA, Anyone, no one cares who you fly with, least of all Ryainair.

Got mine from my Post Office. There is a form for a travel money card in the forms rack. Takes a couple of minutes to complete. Hand it over with your DVLC or Passport and some top up cash + £3.50 comission. They tap all your details in the computer. They give you the card and you take it away. Ring up the automated activation number the following day and you're away. Easy Peasy.

If you're going to Prague, you can save a few extra quid booking the flights separately. A £5 flight booked from Prague to the UK becomes 5Kc (about 20p) if booked as a single,

Not voting either way, since I'm sure the deals are there. Trouble is finding them

Looked at going Bristol to Milan, sure the initial cost outward was £2.99 each, but then got stuck with another £45 for taxes.

In the great scheme of things, this is still incredibly cheap, but I hate the way that Ryanair disguise the additional costs when advertising these flights at £5, just to get the trade onto their site.

To my mind, if they advertise flights at £5, then that's exactly what I expect to pay for the flight

To get an electron card I opened and abbey current account online and went into the branch and asked to DOWNGRADE my card to an electron, have to open the account first but no probs at all.
With regards to luggage 10kg hand luggage is quite a lot as long as you dont take loads of shoes!!!! We went on a family holiday in October we all managed with hand luggage for five days as long as you are sensible. We wore the heavier clothes as England is cold and packed the light ones as Spain is warm (of course), our beach towels were the thinner ones and we limited our shoes as you always take too much.......we even bought the small packs of sun cream (100ml or less) from Tesco and Asda.
For gods sake we are bargain hunters, this is a breeze!!

And that's the key.

If you feel they're trying to rip you off they proably are. If Ryanair have these flights on offer why do they make it so difficult to book them.

They arent advertising £5 flights between Bristol - Milan so no surprise that you cant find any.

If you play the game you get a good deal, a real hot deal,

if you dont know how to play the game, then go fly with BA:whistling:
#36
People please….If you have diva demands off flying on a particular date at a time off your choice to the place off your choice then your going to have to cough up the dollar to pay for that! This offer is designed to make use of the amount of seats they cant sell in these cold and tough on money periods and hope you pay extra for useless insurance and in flight peanuts.

I'm going Sweden in 2 days for a whole 5 pounds each way (I CANT GET A PACKET OF FAGS FOR THAT PRICE!) Why am I going Sweden well I have never been and it’s a wonderful place I hear and I have also booked Milan and Barcelona for……5 Pounds each way! I have a abbey electron card so no charge and I have a 35 litter backpack which is that maximum you can take as cabin baggage (under 10kg) once again no charge.
:w00t:
Sorry for the rant but I am going to see Europe on the back off this deal and at the fraction off the cost this is hot but you have to be flexible with what you want.

You are missing the £5 flights my friend. If you perform a search and click on the search by the week you will see the £5 flights on some routes...along with the £0.00 flights and £2.99 etc etc. Unfortunately in the world of Ryanair, a £2.99 flight or a £0.00 flight is not necessarily cheaper than a £5.00 flight....because of the taxes etc. BUT the £5 flights are inclusive of all taxes !!!! So for two people you will end up paying £20 potentially. The only charge you get stung with are the card charges, which as documented can be circumvented by using a Visa Electron.
banned#38
Voted hot, as there are fewer restrictions too. You need to remember that booking Ryanair is a game, and you can win, if you play it correctly!
#39
Not everyone can or wants to get an electron card. it's ok for a retailer to pass on the cost of merchant charges (around 2.5%) but when they charge you 10/20/30% (depending on transaction cost eg + £4 credit card charge PER ONE WAY (so £8 return)) that is totally unfair. PLUS costly travel to and from far away out of town airports, sell you all the basics including physical check in, boarding pass, check in luggage.

Please really have to look at other budget and non budget airlines, especially if you do need to check in your baggage or have other needs as it could work out about the same or cheaper. Always factor in out of town airports - not only the cost of traveling both ways but the time wasted.

So please get a life if you think ryanair is absolutely satisfactory.

Let me get this straight .. you don't like the high charges that are applied to various cards but you "can't or won't" get a card that doesn't cost you anything?

There's no can't about it .. anyone can get a prepay Post Office card and they work fine with Ryanair. If you WON'T get an electron card then that's entirely your problem not mine.

Oh and it's €2 on the bus from Dublin airport into town. If you think that's a bit pricey perhaps you're better off staying at home.

Get a life yourself sweetie-pie.
