They don't fly to the canaries from gatwick.

The only England to Canaries flight is east midlands to tenerife and its not cheap.

Thanks Simes

Cheers - just got the wife's 30th birthday sorted - return flights to Dublin (inc taxes) for less than £10 each. :-D

Pity about the payment surcharges but still can't complain.

Trying to find cheapest route from Luton to Marrakech, any time this year. It says from £10 but cant find them, help would be much appreciated

The only dates I could find are outgoing to Marrakech for £9.99 on the following dates:

10, 15, 17, 22, 24 of September 08.

Only retrun I could find was 15 October Marrakech to Luton for £9.99. Obviously no flight going out near then for under £50 so unless you want to go on 24 Sep and come back after 3 weeks on 15 Oct for £20 return it's a no, no.

Could not find any other return flights for under a tenner.

Your only other options are as follows:

Luton to Marrakech for £9.99:
10, 15, 17, 22, 24 of September 08.

Marrakech to Luton for:
12, 14 Sept OR 6 Oct - £49.14 - TOTAL £59.13 return EACH
15, 19, 21, 22, 24, 26, 28, 29 Sept, OR 3, 10 Oct - £29.14 - TOTAL £49.13 return EACH
17 Sep, 1, 8 Oct - £34.14 - TOTAL £44.13 return EACH

Personally two or three days is more than enough at Marrakech so I would go for 15 Sept to 17 Sept for £44.13 return each.

Hope that helps.

WTF?

Welcome to Ryanair:thumbsup:

The only way to get a cheap flight is to travel with hand luggage and check in online;-)

It cost you to check-in at the airport, check a bag which has to be less than 15kg:x and if you breathe too much Ryanair at the airport I'm sure they will start charging for that too:whistling:

On and don't forget the debt and credit card charge too.

Having said all that I have a return flight to Bristol booked for myself, OH and 2 bin lids in August for £150 which ain't too bad, but flights and Taxes cost £80, so the other £70 is hidden Ryanair costs.

Still expecting to have to pay a fuel surcharge come August too, if the price of oil keeps rising
#15
Good deals if you can find them but it'll take a loooooot of searching unless you're planning to go to Dublin, Stockholm or Dussledorf. Couldn't find anything to Bratislava for £10. Then of course you have the sneaky charges as well. Ah well.
#16
A lot of moaning about added charges for suitcases! How else do you expect to fly for £10 return :p I'm surprised for that price you don't have to go in your birthday suit and ride in the luggage bays.
#17
Just got 2 flights from Bournemouth to Edinburgh in September for under £25!! Thanks!!

H&R added!!
#18
Found 'free' flights from Bristol to Dinard at end of June. Still cost about £140 for 4 once taxes ,fees, and the ludicrous charges were added - and 15kg for a suitcase is just stupid. Most suitcases weigh about 5 kilos which does not leave much room for contents - Oh well.

You can use http://www.skyscanner.net/ to make it easier to find the cheap flights. Lets you search multiple airports and dates, and graphs the prices - very handy.

how strict are they on thier hand luggage? i have a case that is 40 x 40 x 24 and thier stated maximim is 50x40x20?? anyone had any luck sneaking the few extra centimeters on??
#21
Great deal thanks, Just booked two day return flights Luton to Dublin for £10 each flight each way! Great way to take the lady out for lunch somewhere different. Keep in mind that most debit and credit cards used to pay for flights will have additional fees added on to them.

At Luton Air Port there are metal framed boxes that check in staff sometimes make you show your hand luggage will fit in it. If they ask you and it doesn't fit in it will need to be checked in. You can pay at the check in desk for the additional bag if this happens though

Is it true that no budget airlines fly to anywhere in Belgium any more?

The reason I ask is that I want to get to Rock Werchter (about an hour from Brussels) this year. Once I'm in Belgium all train transport is free, but I can't seem to find a carrier.

Does anyone know about this? I heard there may have been some legal issues.

They fly to Eindhoven. I travel to Holland and Eindhoven is about an hour and half out from Amsterdam - well linked by road and rail - of course does add to cost.

£224 for malta 1 week from 15th of september is that a good price (its 2 adults 1 child)

I fly to stockholm every 2 months with ryan air and they have never checked the dimensions of my hand luggage.

I'm going from Liverpool on the 4th of june for £4.99 each way + £2 debit card fee. For those of you saying there are other fees on top there are not.

You dont have to take insurance and you dont have to check a bag. If you do this you get priority boarding and dont have to check in. It's much faster.

theres a flight checker on moneysavingexpert sitre plug in where you want to go, or how much you want to pay and a little man inside the computer does all the hard work.

http://flightchecker.moneysavingexpert.com/

Having had a look, the best deal from scotlad to the sun I can find is 26aug - 02 sep, 1 week to Girona (near barcelona and the resorts of lloret de mar etc) for £231.87 for 2 adults to kids. + nasty check in fees - although if you can manage with two bags you could get away with two online check in and two airport check ins which would only add £48.

Total less than £300 for flights to the sun for a family of four - not bad. Although with the euro exchange rate you'll need a fortune for spends when you get there :(

You can probably tell I'm bored this afternoon but using the mse flightchecker the best price for flights to majorca from edinburgh came in with easyjet. 26 aug - 02 sep come in just under 100 per person. They also charge for hold baggage, but at 10 per bag its a good bit cheaper than ryanair.:)

Just realised it magaluf in Mojorca not malaga Sorry!!!

Thanks for the Rep guys - you know who you are! :-)

I know this isn't a deal that EVERYONE can take advantage of, but I think the vast majority COULD if they wanted, which is what matters at the end of the day.

Hope those of you that managed to get a good deal enjoy your trips, and those that didn't, hopefully you'll find a good deal soon.

I'm being stung by the baggage charge. Charging £24 to take luggage on board, so thats an extra £48 for two of us. Is there anyway around this? Say's you can't bag share, but if I went with my girlfriend and we only took one bag would they say anything?

If you only take one bag between the two of you for £24 that is fine.

It's not a charge to take luggage on board. You can take on hand luggage. Really I cant see why a man needs more than a rucksack for a week away unless you are going skiiing or something.

I always just take a rucksack and fit everything in comfortably.

2 pairs of jeans, 5 t-shirts 7 pants and socks, 2 pairs of shorts. What else do you need?

As for sharing? Well if they search your bag they ask if anyone else's things are in there. I never had to a lie so don't know what would happen if you did. Probably nothing.
#39
We are going for two weeks camping, so need to take more than usual. I would be fine with just a rucksack, as would the lady, but got a tent to consider too.

Is this something we can add on after we have bought the tickets? Would like to get the tickets now and do a test and if we can't manage then we can add it on later?

I take a case that just fits, fully loaded it takes a weeks worth of holiday clothes, no trainers or jeans, wear them on the way out. The weight comes in a just over 9kg and you board first and don't pay anything, it's great!!
p.s. don't forget you cant take liquids (antiperspirant and sun cream),if you do this just buy them in boots once you have passed security.
