I Think the assistant might be confusing it with a LifeCam Webcam

No green tint on my screen. For the price it looks decent, especially when it's been comperssed for the limitations of youtube
#22
I also noticed that a bit on the wall. To be honest, Youtube doesn't really compress HD videos, likely re-encodes with a perhaps a set adaptive bitrate but even so it wouldn't be too much considering the video camera.

Looks great for the price though, the video camera that is.

Would like one of these to take on holiday.. We'll see tomorrow.

I downloaded the HD version of this clip from youtube and to be honest it wasn't that good either, granted there was still some compression.

I rushed out to my local store in Lincoln tonight to get one and think I bought the last one, I have had about 20 minutes play with it and I have packed it up to go back tomorrow because it has about 20 dead pixels on it.
For the price and features its a very good deal, but can't put up with all the white specs on playback.
Even though its HD, I played it back on a 43" plasma and it looked quite bad, the picture is very compressed and has hardly any detail, I couldnt find an option for compression.

Cheers,

Graham

im far too old ...thats my eldest sons new gf, i'd never met her before that night, they were on the wii while i made dinner
#31
grahams. what are the digital still like? does it work well as a basic digital camera aswell
#32
The few pictures I took were quite good unless something moved, then it was blurred. There is no real flash as you would expect, just an led one that you can turn on.
#33
So you wouldnt advise this on a night out then? lol as im after something cheap to take out when im drunk
#34
VERY poor, not worth buying at all, I know it's ok for the price but why would you want really bad quality? just save the £30 and get a proper camcorder!
#35
Grahams sorry to ask, but did you connect it via the included HDMI cable to your TV, also are you planning on getting a replacement or refund ?

I agree its only good for taking photos of still things, anything that moves blurs

the light is quite good, have used it to video my dogs at night in the garden (when it snowed)

What i like about it is the size, i have several other video camera which to be honest if i was videoing something like a wedding, holiday or special event id use a better camera, but ..
this is great for portability ..something to have in glove compartment of car or in bag for th odd thing you want to video

Its not alot bigger than a packet of cigarettes and fits in my coat pocket

Yeh that's my main reason for buying it, Ive got a Sony Camcorder but it wont just slip into my back pocket !
#38
For £30 usually £90 its a good deal and looks to produce video better than most if not all camera phones. If its as big as a pack of cigs then even better, but as for HD its not HD as you would expect but £30 what do you want??

Do some youve been framed footage and you will be quids in.
#39
*have just held mine next to a packet of Sterling Superkings ...same size if that helps anyone

There are 2 very similar models made by Medion
Aldi were selling the other one in December
The specs are almost identical but the price on this deal is much better
