I recently had to call out RAC as was out of petrol - very embarrassing (as a fella). Luckily RAC man was very decent and didn't charge me - just got a lift to petrol station and used his tankie.

Been on lookout for this, but often overpriced. This is a good price, better with TCB - but (girlie question) could I use this for Petrol instead?

shame it doesnt come ready filled .

didn't the AA used to bring you fuel for free to get you to a station if you ran out , that might have been a very long time ago though.

I've heard that if you petrol petrol in a diesel can, the earth might stop spinning...

If you really want to be cheapstake and can't find an extra £2 required to get a green can, just make sure you clearly label the black can with "petrol" on it... Universal sign for petrol=green, diesel=black/red. :whistling:

I usually fill tank to full anyway and re-fuel at around 1/2 to avoid such situations. Initial tank full costs me around £85 but then you don't have to worry about fuel cans etc.

Diesel in Petrol is a no-no for the car. I've never done it - seen plenty do it when I was working in the trade - and seen some pay up to £3k for replacements...

Cheapskate - well isn't that the idea of HUKD? Else tell me, why are YOU here - to spend more?

    Peace Adnan

What are theives? In England we refer to them as thieves. If you're gonna take the mick - learn to spell 1st

My point being - is the filter on the can any different - I know that I drive a petrol car and am not suddenly gonna fill up diesel at the gas station. I understand the use of a sticker on the spare can, its a simple 'will it work' or not. As ever, am sorry I asked.

I only had RAC this year as I have been swapping between the 2 (RAC & AA) for the last 5 years due to Tesco Clubcard and lattertly Quidco and Topcashback. I've not spent more then £10 in any year on membership. Never ran out of fuel when with AA, but have seen many drivers charged (I used to get the complaints at last job) for fuel refill's. They normally charge 50p/litre above whatever the rate is plus an admin fee of about £25 +vat

Yeah ok if you live in a perfect world. Luckily we're not all like you :x

Accordingly to MSE & science, you are actually spending more on petrol consumption by following this procedure. Accepted - you are prob spending less time at gas station.

Reserved with TCB and Argos and will pick up after Easter break (well, 2moro) claim me £1 - and nick one of the kids plain white stickers to label!

Firstly, i didnt ask you that question, neither was i responding to yours, so you need not have replied. Secondly, i do not mind you taking the mick out of me for a spelling typo. Atleast my thoughts and ideology aint backwards. I think i made a another typo in there somewhere, see if you can find and point it out to me again.
