oh dang dont know much about digital cameras...thought it was kinda cheap for a 5 megapixel...
anyway what is the difference between optical and digital zoom??

Hi jaguark.

Digital zoom fakes the behaviour of a real zoom lens by simply enlarging your shot, this will crop the outer edges of the image to fit, leaving you with a lower resolution and poorer quality image.

Digital zoom is nearly always best avoided unless you really can't any get closer to your subject (and even then you might be better off using a simple photo editor to blow up your pics).

This probably has a very poor lens too making the 5 mega pixels worthless.

Like also said, digital zoom is pointless.

I have this model but under a different brand name. It has a fixed focus and it is the worst digital camera that I have ever had:-(

You can have as many pixels as you want but if the lens is a bit of cheap plastic you will still get a poor picture.

These digital cameras from Aldi, Lidl, Netto etc. are all best avoided.

Pay £10 or £20 more and get a decent brand (Canon, Nikon, Fuji or whatever) and leave these cameras on the shelf.

£50 canon 5mp a530 I got from Asda trumps this rather badly.
