OK, this is possibly not a mainstream bargain as to take real advantage of it you need to be looking at some of the more expensive watches, but if you're after an Omega, a nice Breitling, a TAG, or anything else at that end of the market, I doubt you'll beat the prices here (especially as authorised dealers of these prestige brands are not normally allowed to discount at all).

eg. An Omega Seamaster 2221.80 can be had for £779 shipped which is the best price online by a LONG way, and the next cheapest at £840 is from an unauthorised dealer, so you'll have all sorts of hassle if it comes to needing servicing or any warranty assistance. I've been looking at getting one of these for several years and in all that time I've never seen one of these available from an authorised dealer for less than £950, so this is a huge saving over that.

Like I say, maybe not for everyone, but you genuinely won't beat these prices for watches at this end of the market, especially from a fully authorised dealer.

This is of interest to me but I can't work out how you get to £779...

Pray tell

You can usually use Tesco clubcard vouchers to buy these watches from goldsmiths at 4x the value*
*(The total cost of your spend with Goldsmiths must come to over £200. Deals Tokens can only be used for full price items in their High Street stores (excludes Airports and Outlets) and cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.) http://www.tesco.com/clubcard/deals/browse.aspx?N=4294966216&bid=HJewellery

I'm guessing the price of £779 can only be had if you use quidco (and it tracks successfully). The watch price on the site is £950.

Would really love to get my hands on an Omega, but it's still a lot of money for a watch

Great find. Just ordered something for wifey's birthday around the corner, but not a 5 grand watch.

Great quidco option of 18%

Wow I'm surprised this is being voted down, the Omega prices if nothing else are the best I've ever seen. I guess it is a bit niche though, ho hum.

Use £250 of your Tesco clubcard vouchers to buy a £1,000 watch instead from the same company without any sale promotions, makes more sense to me ;-)

This is an excellent offer, can't believe 18% Quidco as well.

Do you definetely get the 18% back from the original full amount i.e. not the amount after the 5% has come off. Even so, still brilliant as you never see these kind of watches knocked down in price.

The Oris F1 range come in at under £450 with this deal, they are ultra cool and a bit different from your standard issue Tags and Omegas (not that they are not awesome)

No it will be 18% of whatever you end up paying, so after the Quidco 5% is taken off. It's still ~21% off the RRP of some very nice watches, which for some of these brands is unheard of.

Just got to restrain myself now!

Every now and then a genuine diamond deal is unearthed on here amongst all the 2 free elastic bands or free sachet of tomato sauce deals!

Different things for different people of course, don't mean to sound like a **** :)

Wow that watch doesn't look anything special for a grand! Must be the make, isn't it always =D

hmm if only I could use my tesco vouchers in conjunction I'd definitely have a Tag Grand Carrera
#16
I feel really poor sitting here with a £25 watch when you guys are talking about £800 watches being fantastic bargains :'(
#17
Great deal for a great watch. Don't particularly like the one featured but they do plenty of others. Time to get an Omega to replace the Tag - Hot

ive lost my watch....anyone wanna buy me one...?!?! incentives of quidco are great! hehe

All of these quality watches carry a very large mark-up for the retailer from what I learnt when shopping for my Omega Seamaster. I bought the black face'd version when it was brand new back in 2000 and it was list at £1050 for the automatic. (think it is about £1600 new now) I bought from Mapin & Webb Bournemouth and after a long haggle I got it for £900 (15% off) proving they have plenty of room to move on price.

My point is, most shops will give you this discount so don't feel limited to Goldsmiths ;-)

a note on brand - As I see it there are a bunch of pure lable watches such as D&G and Armani that are cheap quartz watches worth no more than £50-£100 that are being sold for £400-£600!! ripp off. Then as I see it there are the top three (Rolex, Omega and Tag) plus a bunch of much smaller premium watches that can cost silly money though are true craftsmanship.

Happy shopping for those on the hunt for a new watch! ;-)

If I do buy one, does anyone know the email address for the people that kindly keep emailing me cheap Rolex offers, so I can let them know............I'll only have to put up with the viagra, online pharmacy, fraudulent banking and ***** enlargement emails then.
#21
Bit suspicious of this one. Omega Seamasters identical to these 3 years ago were £800 for the battery version or £1200 for the cronograph. These maybe updated version but doubt if they are £1875 start price. I picked up a cronograph for £700 in a Swiss airport.

Oh, Omega's Head Office is in Eastleigh and there's loads of ex Omega watch mechanics around the south If that's an incentive.
#22
The £1875 one shown isn't the standard Seamaster. If you click on the £501 to £1000 link on the left it shows the standard Seamaster as £1000, so not that overpriced compared to elsewhere.

Dont forget with Goldsmiths that Quidco 5% doesnt apply on sale items
"Please read the following before proceeding:

Your 5% discount will be applied automatically when you use the Quidco link to purchase. This discount does not include sale purchases.

Goldsmiths offers a 30-day returns policy therefore sales will remain in pending for at least 30 days"
I know it doesnt apply on this item but just in case anyone gets carried away like i tend to when i see the word sale

I have purchased Armani watches off ebay for family members, I can't speak for about all the sellers on ebay, but all of mine came in a white box, with nothing other then a warranty card.
Happy, but not sure about warranty if they did die.

Anyway, you can buy the watch you want cheaper from a retail outlet (£135 inc shipping)
http://www.emporiowatches.co.uk/catalog/pages/emporio-armani-watches/ar0156.php?gclid=CKezorT3zpICFQZFMAodaiBqBg

But I would probably still buy from ebay myself.

5% of 2221.80 is not £950.... its 2110.71.
18% cashback on 2110.71 leaves you with 1730.78.

net saving of £491, which is a sizeable amount, but way off your estimate... :?
#33
:-) :-) I am pretty sure that 2221.80 is the watch model code ;-)

Recommend being very wary of the Ebay watches as there are loads and loads of good fakes out there.

I got stung - the item didn't wear as well - presumably made of lesser quality materials - and couldn't get a refund or repair from maker as was a fake.

Suggest you check within the Ebay time limits for their dispute policy if you are paying big money for a fake.

It is too late a few months out.......
#35
Anything like this on Ebay is 99.9% guaranteed to be fake, unless it's described as second hand.

I got stung on a watch a good few years back, but only to the tune of about £45 luckily. Seller told me to send it back and they'd give refund. Sent it back and guess what, no refund - and Paypal saying it's too late for any dispute and all that BS. These sellers know what they're doing unfortunately.

It's a shame I don't have any money at the moment. Always wanted a nice watch like an Omega (I think Rolexes are a bit tacky - and I think the watch enthusiasts aren't impressed with their quality).
#36
All the watches you can order from Goldsmiths online are for chavs.
#37
Never buy a rolex, they are overpriced and with the exception of a couple of models never hold their price, Tags are good depending on the model but chances are everyone will think it is fake anyway as it one of the most cloned watches in china, Omega is an awesome brand (I have a 1940's bumper movement and a seamaster automatic) and if you don't like Omega then go for Longines as they are at least on a par (I have one of the master collection watches and it is very sweet).

I do fancy a Breitling, although I may just hang on and hope to inherit a Bulliva that I've been eyeing up for a while.
#38
#39
armanis are cheap tat...brought one for my wife two years ago from goldsmiths..had two replacements in 12 months...in the end gave a store credit for something else.

Rolex, Brietling and Panerai are the best three in my opinion for build quality and craftsmenship. Tag are second rate in my opinion having broke a TAG kirium watch.
#40
Goldsmiths are way overpriced,

i import my watches from america, with the strong pound you get a much better deal.
