It would be nice if more products were make in the UK however the price of the products would go up.If the public wouldn't mind this additional cost then all well and good. However it seems most people want cheap products and forget about the unemployment in the UK.

Think about it.....the raw materials cost more than the £1 they are charging, add on shipping & import charges....just who do you think makes them ??

Primark are the modern day sugar plantation owners

At least they get paid. Slaves only got abused, and made many countries rich.

Pakistan still proves that they use sweatshop & child labour to produce their crap clothes......but hey if some people are mug enough to buy them & keep the "slavery" going then so be it....only the consumer can stop it by demanding workers pay & conditions

got some of these about two years back, prob with primark stuff is the label only ever mentions dublin and madrid, i have stuff from sainsburys and asda that says bangladesh ( where primark get their stuff made too), so.. it would be brill if they moved clothes making back to the uk.

I don't think many people realise how many clothes shops get their products made in the same place. Lots of New look clothes are the same as Primark clothes but with different tags.

Primark is just in the papers more

New Look are hardly a premium brand either ..... there are distinct differences between the quality of decent branded goods & Prrimark

Many food manufacturers make products for both regular & discount brands.....often in the same factories, but there is a huge difference in the quality of the ingredients going into them

False economy I reckon. I've stayed away from shopping at Primark for the most part, but the one time I did try them I bought some cheap socks and they all shrunk and developed holes in them after a couple of washes. Just pay a few quid more for decent ones that will last.

Also Monsoon, and their prices are many times higher than those of Primark. Seems to me the pricetag bears no correlation to whether it was made ethically or not.
