may not be much good

Too right. I have a set of these (paid £5.99 few years ago), but found them almost useless. You could slice meat better with a mallet! To be honest, I would not pay £2.99 for them. Not voted cold though, because they might suit someone on a tight budget.

You should try reserving stuff online and then go to the fast pay point where you just type in your reservation number. Then go off shopping and when you come back your order will be sat waiting for you. No ordeal involved. Its what I do.

Any connection with this post and 'Scarface' offer!

For 2.99 it would be worth it for the wooden knife block - and throw the knives away.

Same here.

I personally dont buy kitchen knives unless I can handle them. If the blade doesn't bend under my excessive force then I'll buy it. Got 4 knives in my kitchen that I paid up to £50 each for. Well worth it I feel especially if you cook a lot. Just like pots and pans really. I would not think twice about paying £300 + for a decent set of pots.

Anyway back on topic, voted cold due to the uselessness of the knives themselves. Even at £2.99 they are not worth it.

Good for students.

These knives are DANGEROUS If I received them as a gift they would go straight in the bin.
