Nice find.

Looks great! I am thinking I might go for the earlier Turkey one. Very similar, but I think October will be "just nice" weather

Baaaaaaargain !

whats the weather like there in october/ november?
#8
If you are looking at the earlier Turkey one - we went late October last year.
It was the last couple of weeks of the season and everything was starting to close up / slow down

Still a cracking holiday as it was really cheap and the weather was top 20's everyday

Nice, it can be about 70-80 degree's sometimes hotter....
too hot in the summer.
#13
Weather in mid November was very nice.
Stayed in late 70's and cooler in the evenings. Can be too hot during summer months. Red Sea remains a lovely temperature all year round.
Great deal.

Such a fib - I know dozens of friends that have been and they all rave about it.

Just got back from sharm 2 days ago. Me and my partner both got sick.

It's kind of like Blackpool but hotter.
#18
Another major negative report from someone just got back

I was about to suggest that people do their research about the hotel.

My fiance and I went to Sharm El Sheik last year and a fairly unpleasant experience.
We went to Hauza Beach, which was also 5* all-inclusive; the rooms and site overall were poor and we got ill (I did twice in fact). The beaches are excellent, but as with many countries in that region the heckling is very bad - some of them don't know when to give up.

Apparantly many hotels claim to be 5* in Sharm when in reality they're not even close. We were able to make a comparison to the Hilton which we stayed in the night before we came back (our flight was cancelled) - this trully was 5*!

Perhaps, they know what to expect then.
Most people we spoke to got sick at some point. I don't think it was just our resort either.
I got the impression it was quite a dirty place.

Well, if you're going to sharm and looking for a good place...Nea'ma bay is the place...the bay itself is awesome..great view...close to everything and night life is great too....

Don't be fooled though by the 5* and 4* ..... a decent 4* would be quite al right ...I sometimes even stayed in 3* (but you really have to be careful and check lots of reviews)

I do feel bad every time I read a bad review about a place as they're ruining the reputation of the country just because someone cannot be bothered to do his/her job!

ps, I am Egyptian

Dodgy site with links not working and outdated holiday 'offers' from February!

I have warning bells going off ;-)

I went Sharm last year, and I have to say I would never go back. 5* hotels are 3* over here - and everyone I spoke to had the Sharm-el-Sh*ts at least once, and for some people they were laid up in bed all holiday.

The blokes just leer at every blonde haired woman, and make inappropriate comments, which is OK if it's in a market or something, but when its a policeman with a gun in the airport just as you get off the plane then it's something else!

Sharm itself is a dump - just like every other tourist town in greece/turkey.

In its favour the snorkling though was amazing as was the weather though.
#24
Hahaha, the place is gonna be crawling with us cheap skates ;P

I have been to Egypt three times, I've been to Sharm, Naama Bay, Cairo & El Gouna. Both myself and my partner have never been ill, although guests during the stay were.

Egypt is a fantastic country to visit, and experience both the good and bad!

I'd definitely go back... but maybe not before visiting a few other countries the world has to offer... good luck anyone that goes on this trip!
#27
great place for ladies to get perved on by the egyptians...

im talkin about sharm in general not the resort
#28
I agree about egypt, we went to hagadar. As soon as you get through the terminal, you have to fork out for a VISA(about £50 quid for a family of 4). The locals trying to sell you stuff is the worst I have ever seen, they try and target the kids by giving them a "FREE" gift then try working you over with the niceties such as what FOOTBALL team do you support.

but in its favour the beaches, weather and the hotel we stayed in were great. Somenone is always going to have a bad holiday DO YOUR RESEARCH first ot avoid disappointment!!!!

The following medical diseases or health concerns are more common in travel to Egypt (compared to the USA and other areas of the Western World): [LIST]

Yes, but if you're just going to stay in the complex you're unlikely to have any probs. Honestly, stop spreading FUD, it's a well used holiday destination by all the major tour operators, not the ninth gate of hell.

....................................... If you're just going to stay in the complex you could be anywhere!! What's the point of going to another country & not seeing any of it? lmao
I'm not saying not to go there!! (I travel frequently myself!) just pointing out the many health issues associated with Egypt & this part of the globe!!!

Me. I was there in January.

I went there and got food poisening. NOT from a resorts food, but from TGI Fridays in Sharm - the only Western food I ate all week!

Such a lovely place, and the scuba diving is the best in the world. I'd go back in a shot.

And for the record, if I hadn't even the prawns at TGIs (clearly a mistake anyway), then I wouldn't have been ill. My brother who I was travelling with was 100% fine all week. Just play it a bit safe... you're not going for the food!

Also, the reason for all the negative reviews is likely to be because this is an Egyptian 5*. Stupid posh poncy people will have booked here, not realising a 5* egyptian is an average 4* at best. People have their expectations all messed up, which leads to negative reviews from the really poncy people. If you go out expecting a very good 3* hotel, you won't be dissapointed.

Then it should be rated as a 3 star then shouldnt it ,

The star rating is/should be universal, if it says 5 why wouldnt they expect 5 star, that's like advertising a focus as a porsche as a focus is considered an excellent car in Egypt

Anyhow , always consult tripadvisor - see real pictures and reviews and make up your own mind.
#38
£289 for a weeks all inclusive ANYWHERE is pretty good - surely you wouldn't pay that and expect all bells and whistles? Yes, the food is generally basic and the accommodation not the plushest, but how long do you spend in the room anyway? I'm sure you can find a 'true 5 star' hotel if you want to pay the moolah, just like anywhere else....

Having been to Sharm myself before (and loving it), most of the people who experienced the 'Egyptian trots' were those who sat about in the sun, drinking their own bodyweight in the complimentary local spirits every day! That's gonna have an effect even in Blackpool!

Much heat from me!:-D
