Whilst looking for a holiday in October, I came across this.
The Grand Mediterraneo Resort and Spa in Corfu. It's in a very secluded area, so won't appeal to all, although it's just 1km from Corfu Golf Club, 15km from the Airport and 18km from Corfu Town.
The deal is £161 for a junior suite for a week. Price is for the room, not per person and can sleep up to 3 adults. Board is Bed and Breakfast.
Dates at this price are October 9th, 12th and 16th and it's £170 for the 19th.
This hotel in Summer is around the £2500 mark for a week.I believe Corfu is a year round resort and weather in October is still low eighties.
Thomson Fly also has plenty of flights with match the dates, around £160-£200pp.
This isn't right for me, as my family prefer tacky tourist resorts, but I hope this helps someone else out.

Low eighties isn't warm??
Some people prefer this time of year, because it's not scalding hot. Personally, I am one of those. It's warm, but not too hot, and not a huge chance of rain.

Ok, you can't guarantee the weather wherever you go. (I stayed in Arizona in July for just one night and it rained. Apparently it rains there something like 6 days a year )
Anyway, the point is, if you're looking for accommodation abroad in October, which I was, then this is a bargain. I couldn't find anything else close to this in price.

just another con the price you see should be the price you pay.It is a condition of booking that you are required to take out a suitable travel insurance policy for your travel arrangements. Please note that if you choose to purchase insurance, it must be paid for in full at the time of booking.

Please select the type of insurance you require. This will apply to all passengers on your booking. Other insurance types may be available, please contact us on 0844 871 0878 for further details.

You can take whatever insurance you want, doesn't have to be Thomson.

This is accomodation only, yes, which works out as £11.50 pppn for 2 sharing or £7.60pppn if you have 3 sharing.
ThomsonFly have loads of flights on those dates too. Cardiff, Gatwick, Luton and East Midlands all have flights for £175 including baggage allowance.
So for two people, flights and accomodation is just over £500.

Can you find cheaper for a 5* hotel?

Hi I went to Corfu near the end of september and the weather is still OK, goes a bit chilly at night but every day another Bar/Restaurant in Gouvia village closed so I think by October everything will be closed. I spoke to an English Lady and she told me that each day you work you get a NI stamp and she had to get 2 more days and then everyone in Corfu goes on the dole for the winter.

Thats the main problem, everything will be closed and places like these dont seem very attractive when they are ghost towns

No reviews on trip advisor, or customers photos.

Still hot deal for accomodation if your looking to get away for a week.

I've been to Corfu twice for two weeks at the beginning of October.

I don't think it was 80f once. That suited me and is why I went at that time of year. It did get cool later on at night. One of the times it rained for the entire second week. I was told by several locals that the rain was " a week or two earlier than usual" lol. Apparently if gets very wet at that time of year.

Although it was nice to not have to fight for a sun lounger, most of the shops etc had shut at the end of September. Also about half of the restaurants. The people were still nice, but definitely tired and jaded after a long tourist season. You definitely got the feeling that you had arrived at a party after everyone had gone home.

This is a wonderful price for a 5 star suite, and im sure will be perfect for people looking to just relax and do nothing much else.

Well, no, it's not really a problem. It's only a problem for those who wouldn't go away at this time of year anyway. And that's fine - I said in my original post that this won't appeal to the masses.
There's no use comparing this to a holiday in Summer when it's guaranteed to be hot and everywhere is busy, busy, busy, because that's not an even comparison.
Compare this to accommodation at the same time of year and this is a HOT deal.

If you were trying to make a completely pointless and useful post, then well done!!

Yes, I am defending my post, because it really bugs me on this forum that people vote things cold just because they don't like them, forgetting about the people who do. Oh, why am I bothering?
Anyway, if you find something better, let us know

No, I'm not, I'm just saying it's not very constructive to the discussion to just say "haha at the OP, cold from me".
And if someone spat on my child, I'd break their legs!

Beautiful mediteranian Island, not many tourists around, classy digs. Sounds like you would be treated like royalty and it would be a brilliant time to discover the "real" Corfu. Hot from me.
