Get up north or down south from just £5 one way this summer. Travel between London and Leeds or Wakefield for a fiver and see the best of Britain for a pittance.

London to Yorkshire
Leave the big smoke behind and head north to Yorkshire. With its lush green dales, modern cities and friendly folk, its not hard to see why the region is known as Gods Own County.

Leeds offers some of the best shopping and nightlife in the north, all a stones throw from the Yorkshire Dales. And if youre really after a taste of traditional Yorkshire, check out the bustling market town of Wakefield.

Yorkshire to London
If you want a glimpse of the bright lights, make a beeline for the capital. Museums, concerts, theatres and more Europes biggest city really does have it all. And you can experience everything London has to offer for just £5 with East Coast.

Darn it - these trains virtually all stop in Peterborough. Surely they should do the same fare from here :?

bargain- voted hot :)

I presume by booking tickets "backwards" I can use this "in reverse" (in other words booking the from Yorkshire to London). £5 each to go down and see the gallerys for the day is pretty good.

Looks like East Coast are feeling a bit threatened by the new Grand Central trains from Yorkshire to London.

Interestingly, even though the blurb says it's only available between Leeds/ Wakefield and London, the fare also appears if you book to or from intermediate stations such as Doncaster or Peterborough.

Yes after thinking about it it does state something like - trains that LEAVE from London after a certain time. Guess it's obvious that if they stop enroute ( which invariably they do @ P'boro, Grantham, Newark & Donny ) you can catch the same train from there at the same price :)

Voted hot by me.. thanks for posting

If you're booking this make sure you don't miss the small print ... you have to print and bring along this voucher:
http://www.eastcoast.co.uk/Documents/PDFs/Reader%20offers/22549%20-%20£5%20owt%20for%20nowt/22549_EC_5_Voucher_FINAL.pdf

If you travel without this (free) voucher you'll get stung for a full price ticket

I'm confused now. As me and darren9030 spotted, this £5 single fare also shows up to/from intermediate statins like Doncaster and Peterborough yet the voucher says it's only valid between London and Leeds/Wakefield. So if you book Doncaster to London (as i intend to do), will you get some jobsworth guard telling you your ticket's not valid?
