best saving your money and paying for a 4gb card and getting free software to convert dvds ( in theory no more illegal than using an ipod for music if you own the original dvd and the governemnt i currently looking to bring the Copyright protection act up to the 21st century

Yeah, MUCH easier than just taking a disc out of a case and putting it into a PSP. Not.
#7
Not everybody has 1-2 hours to spend converting a single movie though...
#8
stupid question but if you connect your psp to your ps3 can you watch umd movies on your telly ?

UMD discs are encoded at full DVD resolution so that if you have a TV output adaptor for the PSP you can watch them at DVD quality on your TV.

As to whether you can do it through the PS3, I couldn't tell you.

More info...

Wikipedia
The PSP-1000 series cannot output to a TV set without either a third-party modification that requires the removal of the faceplate among other hardware modifications, or a device such as the Nyko PSP-to-TV adapter that uses a CCD camera to display the PSP screen on a TV using RCA connectors. It has yet to be seen if such products will help poor UMD movie sales. This feature has now been added to the newer PSP-2000 model series, which can output at a resolution of 480p using proprietary component cables (sold separately).

And other sources have confirmed that they are encoded at 720x480 which is 480p standard size, not as good as a PAL signal which has more lines but equivalent to an NTSC signal.

( in theory no more illegal than using an ipod for music

which isn't illegal if you pay to download an MP3... but is illegal if you copy it from your own cd. Which is what your proposing we do with our dvd's.

Voted cold. Great deal if the site was working properly and accepting multiple quantities of the same title but it won't.

After 15 minutes trying to get I AM Legend added to my basket it finally came up with a Out Of Stock message.

When there is an offer like this they limit the quantities that can be purchased on each order, which i think is a good idea.
