Do people actually still smoke? I have not seen a smoker for at least a year.

I'm guessing you don't make it outside too much.

Heat added. This is not a sale price or anything, they always cost that much. Any smokers out there should consider buying stuff in bulk. Similar good deals can be had for papers and all that.

How are these 'Child Safe'? I'm just curious, can anyone explain?

There is a metal ring over the striker making it harder to light. Personally I hate this design, but I don't use disposable lighters these days.

I have a friend who always ended up with 5 lighters in his pockets by the end of the night. Wish I could buy him this... (back in Aus)

Using the term is an example of making a virtue of necessity. Small disposable lighters sold in the EU* since 2008 need to meet child safety standards including being too difficult for a child under 51 months to operate.

* I dare say from 2019 we'll be able to buy the lethal ones again.:{

I've known a couple people like that and ultimately it's disrespectful thievery. Depending on what you're lighting it doesn't take more than a few seconds and to pocket it and walk away if the lender isn't looking is a d*ck move. I have a couple friends who still smoke and they each carry 2 lighters.

probably 'child safe' in the way that there are 'safety matches' that no doubt don't catch fire

To be fair, it's often the state of mind that one is in at the time. It used to be a muscle memory reflex to be put a lighter in my pocket after using it when I was ' away with the fairies' so to speak..
