Interesting... very interesting. I actually have a small pile set aside which I mean't to sell last week but didn't get round to it :)

You can have some rep and heat - better not be fibbing of course :p
#2
Does this apply to dvds too?
#3
50% extra usually means 1.5 times your cash rather than double but nonetheless if true it is a good deal.

I dont think it is though, at least not Nationally because I traded Bratz yesterday for £15 and CEX prices this at £16 (except there isnt one near me).

you need to explain this a little bit more is it all stores and who is actually announcing this where are you hearing this from because its sounding kinda like a rumour

It's definitely true.. but only for a limited time and on games only - not DVDs or accessories. And it's not double the money, it's get half as much on top again...

I traded in New Super Mario Bros on DS and got £21! I also got £13.50 for Yoshi's Island, so was well pleased. :)

The prices for xbox and xbox 360 games were awful though, even with the offer!

I went to trade brand new sealed copies of Halo 3 and NFS:Pro Street a month and a bit ago.
They offered me £15 each trade, I laughed and left.
I couldn't even trade 2 brand new games for 1 second hand one, a bloody joke!

As if my day couldn't get any worse...
Finally got a lunch break at 16:00 and went down to Gamestation. Had to wait 15 minutes in a queue to be offered the following total value, £4.26 for:

Flight Simulator X
Battlefield 2142
Dark Messiah
X Files: Complete Season 7 - Collectors Ed

Hahahahahahahaha! I wish there was a CEX nearby as I worked out I would get around £30 cash from them. As funny as I found it I had actually been relying on the cash to pay some of my council tax bill for Feb :-(

CEX will take them by post - you will have to pay the postage though.

I was told Jan/Feb by loads of people and managed to miss a payment :w00t:
I think that as I pay every month (i.e. not direct debit) I essentially pay 12 times and don't get 2 months off. Is that correct?

i dont have a games console, voted cold.

Just 'cause you don't personally have a console doesn't mean it's not a hot deal.

As far as I know it ends 31/01. That's what they told me in store. They pay 50% more, so indeed you get 1.5 times much more.

Shame they don't seem to offer very good rates.

Had SSX on Tour for PSP, Game offered me £5.50 cash, local independent offered me £5 and Gamestation offered me £2 ha!
#23

#24

Do Gamestation still take retro stuff?? They used to have loads of it but the stores I have seen recently had virtually nothing.

yeah, they do but they no sell most things in certain shops and via ebay or the like I think.

I remember being totally skint and selling loads of my collection of game and watches...I think I sold them 11 for £100

I sold another 15 or so on ebay for around £400 :x
#30
Do they give the same amount in cash as they will for instore credit?
Because I just want to trade my PES6 XBox360 copy for a XBox360 play and charge kit.
#31
Not sure if this is related but I traded in 4 Wii games on Friday, not for cash but trade against other games.

I traded

Super Paper Mario
Resident Evil 4
Mario Strikers Charged
Rampage: Total Destruction

I got £77 in trade. Better than I expected
#32
Called them to see how much they'd give for a 360 HD DVD dirve... £42 trade in and £24 cash.
Cheeky! :x 'aving a laugh!
CEX showing online £54 cash..... but went in last week and they;d run outta cash :?
Maybe try again later today. :p

£42 isnt a bad deal m8, these are going for aorund £50 on the Bay and via private sale (inc shipping)
value is only gonna go down in light of HD-DVD demise

got a SNES to trade in too, with a fair few games, couple of rare ones.

I dont understand. Why would I want to trade in cash?!
#37
Haha, I have been doing this over the last week! Been buying out my nearest Argos stores, getting Tomb Raider Anniversary on Wii aswell as Cooking Mama on Wii. They are both in the 2 for £30 offer and Gamestation were giving £28.50 on each Cooking Mama and £30 on each Tomb Raider. I got hold of 5 TR's and 1 Cooking Mama in the end...making me £88.50! Not bad for going to a few stores over a few days!! Heat added!!

LOL, only if you live near my area, but yes!! Plus a new extra store opened last week in Wantage. My mate went there and cleared them out, they had 10 TR's, it's funny explaining to the staff that you do actually want 10 copies of the same game.
