First post so go gentle!! Just come back from the St. Albans store & picked up this superb deal (IMHO). Still £299 in Argos & they still had 8 or so left in St. Albans - Not very well advertised in shop though. Still showing as £399 on-line!!! Good luck - hope it helps someone out.......

was previously posted at £299 here - http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/614206/medion-akoya-e5211-15-4-3gb-320gb-l

Medion's Akoya E5211 is a fast and easy-to-use laptop for on-the-go computing. Boasting a 15.4" TFT widescreen (maximum resolution 1280x800) and powered by an Intel Pentium T3000 processor, it's fast and functional - and finished in a simple black.

Product overview

Portable and efficient, this laptop is just the ticket if you want connectivity and performance on the go, and at 2.6kg, it's fine to take with you on your travels.

Offering a large 15.4" screen with a resolution of 1280x800 pixels, it's as sharp as it is easy on the eye, while a widescreen aspect ratio of 16:10 is perfect for watching movies as you while away your journey.

With an Intel Celeron Processor T3000 and 2GB of built-in memory, it's got enough clout to handle multiple applications without slowing down to a crawl. A welcome 320GB hard drive gives you plenty of room for storage, while battery life is around 2.5 hours, so you've a good amount of time before needing a mains socket.

A multi-format dual layer DVD RW optical drive is a handy extra, for playing DVDs and CDs and writing to them in space-saving format, while there are four USB ports for flexible plug and play. Connectivity is via an Ethernet connection and Wi-Fi. Pre-loaded software includes Windows Vista Home Basic Edition and Nero Burning ROM 8 Essentials.

Comes with a 1 year manufacturer's guarantee.

Do you have the Sainsburys SKU number at all, so members can confirm the availability of stock at they're local stores.

Cheers, Scotty Boy!

As Scottyboy says SKU please.....HOT

Sorry, just checked the receipt & cannot see any SKU reference - receipt just shows *MEDION 15" LAPTOP. If it helps, I tried Hemel Hempstead first & they had just sold their last one. They rang St. Albans & just asked for the Medion E5211 at £199 - They knew exactly what she was talking about.....
There is a white sticker on the box showing the number - 508/1581 - Does this help???

No probs - I'm off to my local store just now but does it say anything on the packaging itself, any Sainsburys stickers?

Cheers, Scotty Boy!

Right just back from the store (the large one, just off of the Chiswick High Road in London) - the information desk assistant couldn't give me the SKU number but she confirmed that the price reduction was due to the laptop being a discontinued product and on top of that other people had been in earlier (since this morning) asking about it as well.

Cheers, Scotty Boy!

tempting... but I have the Medion Akoya mini E1210 (~£176) from last years Sainsburys deal, and the Acer Aspire (~£121) from last years Tescos deal.
#12
Even though it's pants it's still only £200!

Decent deal. The only thing that would have made this a killer would be the more up to date gma 4500mhd chipset.
#14

Spoke to many local Sainsbury and found SKU number 7195962 but none of the stores have any in stock. Their computer shows 3 in Chiswick and few in Hayes but both of them said they don't have it. Chiswick lady told me that it is discontinued now. Surprising!

I nearly walked away without them as I phoned up and reserved them but when I got there no one knew anything about it. It was only when they had a good look round that they found them. I had travelled nearly 20 miles. I had to go the the electrial dept, then customer services, then back to the electrical dept and finally got them. The lady from customer services said that she had someone else on the phone when I was paying for them. Sorry!!:?
