I also noted some other games that were on offer but didn't buy, but there were quite a few altogether:

Tomb Raider Xbox360 £7.49
Lego Star Wars Xbox360 £12.49
Top Spin 2 Xbox360 £9.99
Blazing Angels Xbox360 £9.99
Tiger Woods 2006 Xbox360 £9.99
Moto GP 06 Xbox360 £9.99
Prey Xbox360 £9.99
LMA Manager 07 Xbox360 £9.99
Call of Duty 3 PS2 £9.99
Sims Pets DS £9.99
Warioware Touched DS £12.49
Cars Wii £7.49
Splinter Cell GBA £2.49

p.s. please don't have a go at me if your local store isn't doing this offer, I'm just giving you a heads up in case they are like my store in Wolverhampton! If they are doing the offer a tip is to look though ALL the games and not just the clearance section - I found some good .97 priced games by doing this

You bought all those games - sounds like you won't see daylight 'til 2008 !!
#3
Some of them were for my daughter, I'm not the Princess Peach sort :giggle: . And some of them will be put away for prezzies too, even the ones for me :-(

I thought currys.digitals were fading away, im sure my local (cardiff) closed a while back, and it was a popular store. What ever happened to good old dixons lol.
#5
Not sure about fading away, I think the one in Wolverhampton was melting away today - the air con wasn't working! :giggle: . I was only in there 5 minutes and was seating like the proverbial pig, god knows how the staff coped!

Voting hot - my nearest PC World did a similar thing instore about a month or so ago but when I posted here it seemed to be a local thing but as you say thats not your fault

lol. Im sure my local store was falling apart. I remember I got a xbox 360 game (call of duty 2) for 1p in there in their closing down sale, it was the last one there, marked at £10, but scanned at 1p. lol

spot on mate:thumbsup: , its been closed for some time now, if i recall  it wasnt open for that long really.

BTW the items don't scan at half price, they have to be reduced manually on the till. But if theres a sign saying 50% off clearance games then they should honour it - a member of staff told me it was ALL games ending in .97 price label. There were literally dozens across all console formats, so happy hunting. My apologies if this is a local offer only, but I thought someone might be interested. Good if you live in Wolverhampton though! :-D

Correct, well over a month actually. Probably about two months.

And its taken 2 months for someone to post it? Shame on you all! :-D

In my currys they have had a bin full of old stuff there for ages like carry cases, car chargers etc for GBA amongst other things, and the 50% has applied to these items. It was the first time I've seen the discount applied to clearance games though, and judging by some of the games left not many people had noticed. Maybe they are just a bit slow in my town?

It's not been happening in either of the Newbury branches

I popped into the Blackpool store of currys digital this morning and they haven't got any 50% off promotion in their clearence games section. I even spoke to the manager who had never heard of it or the .97p offer. So looks like it's only a local offer.

Therefore the prices in the 'clearence' section were stupid. £35 for FIFA Road to the World Cup on the 360! No wonder they are going out of business.

Great deal all the same if are lucky enough to be in the right area so voted Hot.

They've been given a rough date by which they've been told to get rid of all clearance games. The level of discount is up to the individual stores, if any at all. Meadowhall had all 360 games 3 for 40, and all PS2 games 3 for 30.

Going out of business:giggle:

Thats why I wouldn't recommend making a special trip, just check it out when you have time or are passing. The offer isn't nationwide by the looks of it, but as rbentley has posted they have been given a rough date in which to get rid of clearance games and so things can change on a daily basis. It just happens my store has acted now and have a good discount on them.

Shrek the third (new release) is only £17.99 instore too. I bought it today and seriously thought it was a misprice. The young bloke on the counter couldn't believe it either but it went through no probs.
#25
...meant to say it's for the PS2 ;)

Nice find - voted hot :)

Cheers Professor !

I popped into the Wolverhampton branch on Sunday, (I see what you mean about the air conditioning...I nearly melted!), and managed to pick up Moto GP 06, Perfect Dark Zero and Tomb Raider Legend for the princely sum of £24.94.

Top stuff, especially as a lot of places won't even sell you 1 brand new Xbox 360 game for less than £24.99 (even most of the Classics range).

There were still quite a few half decent games left in there, so anyone who is near Wolverhampton might want to poke their head round the door.

Ha ha! Success! I knew I didn't imagine them!
At least I helped someone! :-D . If your local Currys isnt playing ball you should all come to Wolverhampton for the day to visit our beautiful city of bargains :giggle:

RE the aircon - its wasnt even hot on Sunday, what will they do when we get a heatwave? Get down there quick for the bargains I say, before they all melt!!

just thought i would add. clearance is not games ending in .97 but anything ending in a 7. If an item is 147 or 3.47, they would still be clearance. .47 and .97 are the most common. As a previous worker for currys they had silly deals sometimes. got alot of games for .47p and some for 7p. Someboy once baught a pda for 97p!
