I was in ASDA Gateshead last night (03rd Sept) and they had a 50% off all jewelry and watches upstairs.

Don't know if this is store wide or just Gateshead.

Just a heads up if anyone wants to check there local ASDA - Basically everything they sell in the Jewelry Dept. is 50% the label price.

No Idea when it started or ends.

Looks to be the range on http://direct.asda.com/Jewellery/906,default,sc.html?cm_re=Image-_-Jewellery-_-position1 but they are still full price

surely buying a diamond engagement ring from Asda has to be as romantic as buying one from Argos/Elizabeth Duke

I used to work for G&A in Leeds which is the UKs biggest supplier / manufacturer of jewellery in Britain and they sell exactly the same stuff to Beaverbrooks as they do Asda, Argos, half price jewellers. It's all the same crap and it's all made in Thailand factories the only difference is that if you buy it from Beaverbrooks etc they actually sell it at the full RRP which is 3x what they pay for it and 9x what G&A did.

I don't buy jewellery much myself as I know full well how rubbish it is made and how much it is marked up but if I do buy I make sure to get from somewhere like Argos or Asda as the quality is just as good as any of the 'more romantic' options.
