Cold. Very cold. Ignore Tesco's list prices - their wines rarely ever sold at this price. Even the "sale" price is too much, I think when you can get better real deals from companies like M&S.

I am not so sure about that. I have purchased quite a few cases from Tesco Wine and they have been good value. Wine such as Penfolds Bin 128 Shiraz 2005 for £5 a bottle is cheaper than you can buy it in Australia (equivalent of £9) at discount liquor barns. There was also the £10 discount for first time customers that made it even more of a deal. Not sure if they still have it though.

I believe you are mistaken - yes, Tesco do sell good wines, but their "specials" are rarely good deals. Having lived in Australia for some years, I know that wine in Britain can never be as cheap as wine in Oz, unless Australia has more than tripled its prices of wine in recent years. We could not believe the prices when we were there. Tesco - double prices then halve them seems to be their promotions with an occasional very good deal; trouble is trying to distinguish between them.

As an Australian who continues to buy wine to cellar in Australia I will stick by my initial post. Let's not hijack the deal; a good one at that! Thanks JB.
