The Madame Tussauds website is currently offering 50% off the Merlin Annual Pass. So for £75 you get into places like Alton Towers, Thorpe Park, Legoland, London Eye, Dungeons, Sea lifes etc for a year. Considering it costs £38 to get into Alton Towers and £36 for Thorpe you've pretty made your money back by just going to those two! Its only on until 10th January 2010.

on offer too is family of three ticket which works out at £88 each :?..... why is it dearer . thought they would of been same price as three individual tickets . would of prefered just one ticket for all three of us .
also im assuming if i were to book today and i was to collect tickets say in march ... the tickets would be valid from the collection day(march) and not from the payment day ( today )

Confused by this myself, however it states to renew will be £100 for individual and £75 each for family, so a saving of £12 each.
What i don't understand is if the renewal price is guaranteed for when you renew next year? Or will it go up, thus losing your saving.

Would i be right in thinking i can buy now and not claim my pass until i 'first' visit a park in June, the day my old pass runs out?

Hi,

Does it mean that you get unlimited entry to the different places, please? Or do you just get to visit each place once?

It's not quite unlimited anymore.

There are more and more restrictions being added, especially some of the places in London around August and christmas holidays I beleive.

Still strange that a family of three pass is costlier than three individual passes.

You would still have to have 3 individual passes with a Family 3 as they take your picture to go on the individual passes

I think you have to collect in person as they need to take your photo to put on the pass. However, I think its valid from the day you pick up the pass, so even if you go next month you haven't "lost" a month. I found this number on the website 0871 894 3000 and when you call and press * it talks about the discount so if you have any questions guess they can help.....

The Merlin website is also offering this deal now & it states that the passes will be posted to the address given at the time of purchase, bad news as I wanted to buy one for my visit to London next month.

I found this quote from another hotukdeals thread on this subject from Billbo312:

"Annual Passes are valid from the day the recipient redeems the voucher and they are sent to you rather than collecting at attraction? You do have to redeem them from the attraction you signed up for though."

So I suppose if you buy it now at the cheap price, they send it to you, then when you go to London next month take it, they then add you photo and make it valid, then you get one year from that day?

I havent called, i know if you select any of the parks then its not until at least March before they open, i just wondering if June is pushing it a bit before i redeem the voucher.

For those who havent done this, when you get to the park you have to goto customer services for your pictures to be taken, so leave a bit of extra time for this.

I took up the posted Sealife online offer then went to collect today from the London Eye kiosk. You can pick up the same deal there too.

There is one annual pass regardless of age.

How ever, depending how tall your daughter is depends if you will need a pass or not.

The different parks have different requirements.

Legoland - Over 3 years old
Thorpe Park - Over 1 meter
Chessington - Over 1 meter
London Eye - Under 4

You have to check each website for the details I am afraid, they are not all listed together.

My daughter was 3 last April, and we managed to do all the parks last year with out her needing a pass, but this year we are not going to be able to get away with it again.

Last summer she was around 95cm which was perfect, as some of the rides you had to be over 90cm, but then you only pay if they are over 1m. I think for legoland we put her in the pushchair when we went in, and no one ever asked about her age.

Wonderful deal, thanks to OP.

#34
i'd like to collect in feb from tussauds, has anyone checked how long you have to redeme it?
#35
id have thought it would be a few months at least. if you buy the gift voucher 1.
i bought 2 last night, not going to london for another 5 weeks though. will almost get my moneys worth on the weekend il have in london. planning to visit a few of the theme parks later in the year aswell.
yes you cant use it in london in august but simply plan your trips round that. theres 11 other months you can use it in london.
really is superb value.

I posted this info in the other thread also......

Okay, now that Merlin people are back to work, here are the answers of a couple of questions straight from the horses mouth.

1) On the London Eye, with an annual pass, you just show up. No pre-booking required. However, you do not get into the fastrack queue. you have to queue with with everyone else.

2) At the London Eye, the annual pass does not include a River Cruise. However you do get a 20% discount.

3) On buying the Gift Vouchers. From the Time you pay for them, you have "Six Months" to activate them.

They can not STAND in the Q can they. What actually happens is they get a card that has to be signed when getting on a ride so say they get on a ride with a 90 min Q they have to wait 90 mins before getting on the next ride.
Our son is disabled and will not go on the rides due to small minded people like yourself thinking that he is Q jumping. He would love to be able to q up along with his mates but can't.

He must be the only person that actually wants to queue up for rides. If I had the choice between queueing or waiting 90 mins and going straight on I know which I would choose.
