Find a local independent takeaway.
It might take a few attempts to find the good one, but once you do - they charge half as much as Pizza Hut *all the time*, they put twice as much topping on, and they taste way better.
Independent pizza and kebab takeaways are forever being prosecuted for hygiene breaches or employing illegal workers.
If they don't follow employment procedures and save money by employing illegal workers, what chance is there that they follow food hygiene procedures?
I'd rather stick to the chains for fast food, because there is usually a good chance that their hygiene is up to scratch.
Pizza Hut are horrendous to work for. They exploit a lot of young adult's for minimum wage and give them split shifts so they don't need breaks. Also our local Pizza Hut does not have great hygiene standards. Our local pizza place has exceptional standards are the food is much cheaper.
What a load of pap! Being paid minimum wage is not exploitation. Split shifts is normal in the restaurant trade

I'd like to see you earn my £5.30 minimum wage (18-20), get forced to take 2-3 hour breaks mid day so they dont pay me, and them change the rota 3-5 times a week, sometimes with less than an hour's notice, and earn a good wage to actually live on

It's exploitation at it's finest, it is common knowledge that the living wage is the wage required to earn to live comfortably

In London where I live my wage is barely half the Living wage, I think its an absolute disgrace

Yet people like you downtalk college kids/uni students who work their butt off to get you pizza

Think. I don't think you could live on a fiver an hour with split shifts.

All take away hygiene results stars are available on the council website and by law they have to display there rating somewhere in there premises.

It'll be delivery. Also bear in mind that it looks like it only applies to pizza, not sides and stuff.

No sides :(

Prices too high sizes too small. Hadn't had a Pizza Hut for some time, ordered large and didn't have a little plastic dolls table in the middle that they used to come with to support the box lid because the box had shunk and the pizza was smaller than an old medium! Never again.

Aw is it delivery only?

Is there a code or does it just apply when you add to basket?

It allowed me to do it with £14.99 (two large pizzas) instead of having to spend £15 on pizza

I've had the Pizza hut deal a couple of times in the past and am always disappointed once we get it as not really that impressed with the taste (also far too salty) compared to the supermarket ones. I do prefer Domino's to the supermarket ones though.

I should look for an independent one, but don't really have takeaway pizza that often (maybe 3 or 4 times a year).

Thanks for that info, wasn't aware it was online. Just spent a horrible 10 minutes looking on the FSA site at some of the food places around the way. Surely the 1 or 0 stars hide the rating certificate in the depths of their murky pits. Yuck!

You get get an app called 'scores on the doors', it'll bring up pretty much all your local takeaways and restaurants showing their hygiene rating out of 5. I used to think ignorance was bliss but now I just spend my money in those places that actually deserve it. I'm sure most Pizza Hut's will be ok though.

I used to go to Pizza Hut a lot a few years back they used to do really great pre 6.00pm (from memory) deals I think it was pizza and salad bar for under £6.95 approx I'd have dinner there before going home.

I also notice their lunch time special ends at 3.00pm some "Huts" 5.00pm during school hols NOT all.

• they need to bring back the pre 6.00pm 'special'

• extend lunch buffet by 2 hours to 5.00pm Mon to Fri in ALL "Huts" 12 months of the year

• have more offers like this great deal but include dine in as well as delivery.

just my 00.02p for Pizza Hut marketing dept.

Cheers

Not sure where you are but our local ones are appalling. Stodgy, greasy, full of salt and cheap toppings. At least with Pizza Hut you know what you're getting and they are always consistent.

Dominos is the same for exploiting staff in regards to breaks. I was delivering for them as a stop gap. Usually started at 4pm and finished at 2am weekdays and 4.30am weekends, no breaks in 12/14 hours and your cleaning or making boxes when not delivering.

im guessing the people that care are those of us who don't favour criminals propagating illegal employment practices, undermining our employment laws and knowingly selling potentially dangerous food prepared in disgusting, insanitary conditions. Otherwise, imagine everyone's pretty cool with cheap pissa, whatever that is.
