I've edited to show this - so PADMIESTA is correct, but forgot to state this.

If you go on the Amazon website they state there is a newer model of this item:

Sony DPFE72NB 7 inch Digital Photo Frame With 3 Interchangeable Frames (Black, Brown or Red)

Only £39.99 with Free Delivery.

PLEASE READ 1 OF THE CUSTOMER REVIEWS FROM AMAZON:-

On the page for the Sony D70 frame (Sony DPF-D70 7" Black Digital Photo Frame - With 256MB Internal Memory) Amazon list this as its successor, but it really isn't. This has much lower resolution screen (in the spec it just says QVGA) this screen is 480 x 234 (which is very low) the D70 is a much healthier WVGA 800 x 480. This means that the pictures are not sharp and the text/clock displays are very pixelated. This went straight back and we ordered the D70 elsewhere, can't comment on its other features as it was only out of the box for a couple of minutes, what's the point in a digital photo frame if the image quality is lousy? If anything the successor to the D70 is probably the much dearer D72, maybe the E in E72 stands for 'Economy'?

JUST FOR YOUR INFO

i would agree, this supposed newer model falls a bit short on both memory and clarity.
Forget that Amazon deal, I'll go with this M&S deal instead!

In stock for me...

Awful photo frame, without the Sony logo it would cost £20. This may be a good price but its still poor value for money.

The Jessops 8" has a much higher resolution, bigger screen, more built in memory, and the correct aspect ratio to avoid cropping, stretching or black bars: http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/553438/jessops-digital-lcd-8-2gb-digital-p

And it's cheaper.

Going by the picture of the jessops one, there is more frame than viewable screen.

You are talking rubbish.
All the £20 7" screens are a much lower resolution than the Sony's 800x480 and the picture quality on this is excellent. To say it's only the name that makes the difference is nonsense.

The Jessops screen you mention is 800x600 which isn't a "much higher resolution" , it's a bit higher. As for the aspect ratio , that depends entirely on what format you took your photos in.
Lots of mine are in widescreen so I have a widescreen frame.

Why is this expired? I've just ordered a couple online. Mods - please unexpire, thanks.

I was in the Nottingham M&S today and they're out of stock at moment but tell me they're expecting a delivery first thing on Thursday (17 Dec) morning, if you'd rather buy instore.

EDIT - sorry, just checked and it's out of stock online again! Probably worth checking every now and then, or going instore

This is back in stock online (both black and red frames) - please UNEXPIRE

4 or 5 still in stock at the Fenchurch Street branch for £49. I bought one for my sister for Xmas and can vouch for the quality at this price.
