Thanks for this,
But do you know if there are any conditions attached? i.e Pet insurance half price when taking out life insurance, or something like that?

Edit - Just remebered the date coincide with Tesco Pet Week, so probably not - Voted Hot

I'm assuming the 500 clubcard points offer expires on 7/10/07?
#4
Also think that if you go via quidco you can get an extra 3% cashback.
It also says when you click on the link,20% online discount plus an extra 5% if you insure more than 1 pet. Will this be additional to the 1/2 price offer or in place of this?
#5
but they dont do Rabbit insurance:-( but voted hot anyway)

if it gets ill put it down and buy another one. Not like a cat or dog that have personalities.

I tried it and it doesn't work?! Have you got the dates wrong?
#11
Be aware it doesn't have continuous cover (standard policy) , only covers conditions for 12 months, some places will cover for as long as your pet is alive with the condition, this small details can save thousands if you pet it unlucky enough to get an ongoing condition.

We had a cat with renal problems and they covered all the bills. Good at paying out as well, you can either send the invoices on a monthly basis or at whatever interval you choose:thumbsup:

I priced up the pet insurance yesterday (sunday 7th) with Tesco so that i could compare strangly enough today they quoted the same price dont know wheather you need a discount code. Any body else tried. Looks like an other year with E&L.
#18
Please be careful - these offers are not always as good as the company says. I saved a quote for my 2 golden retrievers at the week end when the on line discount was 20% and the quote was £18.11. I put in exactly the same details this morning when the 50% off is available and the quote came back at £18.10. I don't think Tesco's maths is up to much. I rang them to complain and they said that the insurance premiums change daily. Personally I find that a feable excuse - it just shows that even the big companies lie to us consumers in trying to get our hard earned money. Shame on you Tescos.

Maybe the website wasn't updated at the time you checked.
It is advertied online now.

Edit:
I've just done a quote now to compare the one i did 2 weeks ago. Price then was £7.62 a month, Now its £5.57 a month - cheaper, but not 50% as advertised.

I am thinking Tesco carnt do its maths properly and this is all a bit misleading. I have contacted Trading standards for them to investigate and passed details to the ASA (advertising standards authority). A 50% discount should mean just that half off and on the web page there are no little * for minmum spend or other terms and conditions to meet the offer.

The Eceptional Super Con Offer (tesco)

Not trying to put this deal down, but at the moment Churchill are giving £40 cashback via quidco for pet insurance. No idea if this works out better than tesco, but may be handy for some to know.:)

Cashback validated within 24 hours as well:thumbsup:

My quote was £4 per month cheaper, but this is for 3 dogs, the quote is not coming up 50% cheaper, this is a con. Original quote was £35 now £31 per month, this is the lowest level of cover.
#24
Seems to be a bit of progress today, £19 down to £12 however this is still only 33% reduction and no where near the so called 50% off as stated I shall wait a few more days.
#25
thanks for OP. I was quote d£16.50 yesterday for extended cover which has gone down to £10.30 today.

Don't forget that your previous quote had some kind of online discount also (think it was 20% previous to the half price offer),so therefore your new quote will not be 50% less than your original quote. The figures you have quoted seem to suggest that the top price premium is about £24.Take 20% off that and that gets you between £19 - £20.HTH.

You have not seen our rabbit!!!, It has its own litter tray in the kitchen with its own little 'dog' bed and begs for food on its hind legs at the fridge greets you at the door when you come in, Does tricks for a grape!! I would say it has more of a personality then a lot of Cats i have seen:roll:

Tesco say that their rates change daily and they really do. I was quoted £12 on first day of 50% off and £7 on second day ! Not waiting to see if it changes tomorrow, I'm happy with £7 !! ..........currently paying £35 a month for similar (but not exactly the same) cover with Pet Plan.
banned#29
Make sure you select the EXTRA COVER as this covers up to £4000 per condition and doesn't make any difference to the quote! Also do not change the excess from £50 to £100 as again this does not affect the quote. Strange but true.

Having said all that, I went with http://www.healthy-pets.co.uk instead as they were £36 a year cheaper with better cover (2 cats aged 8 & 11) - £12 per month for both under GOLD scheme.

made a difference for me. from £8 to £11 something. still excellent price though it hink. this is for a german shepherd

I went back and forwards within the screens amending the fields and the quote never changed. Maybe their system has a bug.

almost bought in to this there, but i will wait and see if there are any staff discounts at sainsburys for pet insurance.

My dog died at birth but was revived by mothers rubbing of its chest, said she was rubbing her for an hour without giving up...

The dog (bitch) is 4 now i think, and dosile as hell. wouldn't swap her for anything... unless you have a good swap lol... (*goes to FT section of the forum)

I take back all that I said about Tesco (please see above). from advice from previous postings I retrieved by quote which had previously had the 50% discount applied and somehow only managed to reduce by 1p to £18.10. Amazingly this time it reduced to £10.86!!!! Considering the original quote had 20% online discount applied, my new quote equates to a 52% saving. For 2 puppies this is by far the cheapest quote available. Well done Tescos!
[helper]#34
Eh....well done Saxo aswell

hehe
#35
It doesn't want to change the price of my saved quote, someone tell me the secret?
[helper]#36
start a new one !...maybe lol
#37
I tried that, but it only reduced ot by £4, from £34 to £30, see my previous post lol
#38
Thanks saxo, I took on all the advice and insured my new pup with Tesco. Plus extra cover for £10.93 per month for the first year.
