There's only about 40 tickets worth buying on viagogo (cheapest one at the moment is £51) but until the reasonably priced tickets are gone this is a good deal, and here's why:

You pay MyCityDeal £10 for a £50 voucher. Quidco then give you £5 of that back.
You then goto ViaGoGo and pay them (at time of writing) £51 for a ticket and about £16 in booking fees. Except make that £17 in total 'cos of the £50 voucher.
You then get 7% back from Quidco if you went via them to ViaGoGo, if you only get 7% of the cash you've paid (i.e., minus the voucher's value) that's £1.19 but I wouldn't be surprised if I receive 7% of the total price paid, which is £4.69.
So I've just bought a Stevie Wonder for £10 payable to MyCityDeal, £16 payable to ViaGogo, (£26 total) and I'll be receiving £6.19 or £9.69 cashback, making it somewhere between £19 and ~£15.
Ticketmaster and eBay both cost nearer £60, and certainly not less than £50, so I've saved about 60%.
Why this was rated cold yesterday I have no idea.

Offer apparently expires at midnight but they'll probably just promote it to a different city in the UK instead, you don't have to live in that city to get it.

Who is the "surprise artist" that it claims that it will reveal to us once we buy the voucher?

How did you do this? the codes are not valid until lunchtime tomorrow.

Also, viagogo are waiving their fees except for VAT and postage, for mycitydeal customers.

In light of this especially, and even without going through all the cashback carry on, it is a better deal then it got voted yesterday.

Good question I can't see them mentioned anywhere in my email.

Lady GaGa ... :/ no thanks.

WTF! All the prices have just gone up by £10 :S

Having got the details of this now that the codes are working, I can confirm the deal is nothing great - the cheapest single tickets available for Stevie Wonder are 88 quid including fees. You can't buy the tickets available for 50 - 60 on the normal site, you have to go through a speical link where the prices are inflated.

Yeah - the normal prices were available until baout 1/2 hour ago when they hiked up the price by a tenner, when i was mid transaction. Dunno if i'll bother now :S

Waste of time - cold.

Freezing. I complained to mycitydeal as there was no repesentation that you would only be able to use the code on a seperate lot of higher priced tickets.

Will def avoid viagogo in future, jury is still out on mycitydeal as I have got a couple of other decent offers through them.

i've emailed them too - its awful.
The tickets from see tickets etc are £57 inc fee
Cheapest i can get a pair now is £52/each - so after spending a tenner on the coupon i'm actually spending £5 more per ticket! :S

Luckly i bought this voucher using credit from referaly on the £1 cineworld deal so not finacially out but still, its crap! ;-)

AND to top it off, they started selling the tickets a day earlier than originally advertised! The prices keep rising...

Odd... I went for this yesterday afternoon, around when the deal was first posted, and only got emailed my code at midnight last night. Just tried to get tickets and found the code isn't actually active until noon today. Am I just unlucky, or have I accidentally gone in for a very similar, but subtly different deal?
Not very impressed by either viagogo or mycitydeals as yet...

The deal was available on Monday, codes were sent out Tuesday around 1am, the email said they could be used from 12pm today but they sent another email saying they could be used yesterday.

You have to go throught he 'special' mycity deal link to viagogo where surpise, surprise, the ticket prices are inflated so that you voucher is virtually worthless.

So very dubious behaviour on the part of viagogo, I suggest you email mycitydeals and complain.. I have but they were pretty ignorant about the whole issue - I did persist and currently they are 'looking into it' for me.

i did the same - just kept coming back with lots of BS.
What are they 'looking into'?

It's pretty obvious that viagogo have pulled a swift one, but mycitydeal are playing dumb, so I told them to ask viagogo:

a) why there were 2 different pools of tickets, as the only logical reason I could see was so they could inflate the prices for mycitydeal voucher holders.
b) why is there such a price difference between the 2 pools of tickets

Hello MyCityDealer,

There have been a few concerns around the price of tickets on the special MyCityDeal/Viagogo ticket page. This is because a limited amount of tickets were allocated for this deal- some more expensive then others. Even so, with the £50.00 reduction and the cancellation of the standard 15% Viagogo commission, tickets will always be cheaper with this deal.

However we realise that the cheaper tickets have already been snapped up by quick fingered MyCityDeal customers and so we have now worked with Viagogo to bring cheaper tickets in to the mix. So you should now see how good this deal is. Please follow this link to redeem your voucher and buy your tickets: http://www.viagogo.co.uk/mycitydeal

As only one voucher can be used per transaction this makes it difficult to get a big discount on grouped together seating. If you want to go as a group together and get a big discount our advice is for each individual to buy a general admission ticket.

Yes, but have you checked the (Stevie Wonder) ticket prices - they are actually higher than what they were yesterday! Currently 90 quid plus fees - after the discount it works out 20p cheaper than going through ticketmaster.

Total joke...

yeah noticed that this morning.
Im looking to get those ones too. Was going to order 2 yesterday at £55/each. - went through the process of ordering and clicked confirm and it said they weren't available. Looked back and saw they had gone up to £65. Since then theyve gone up to £77.50.

Increased £22.50 in less than 24 hours! joke.

MyCityDeal seem to have redeemed themselves a bit;

Dear Customer,

We are writing this email to you as purchaser of the viagogo deal which we ran on our site on Monday and Tuesday this week.

We had a fantastic response to this campaign and as a result the best priced tickets sold out very quickly. Just to explain, viagogo is a market place where buyers and sellers exchange tickets in a secure and guaranteed way. The ticket prices are set by the sellers and will vary depending on such factors as the artist, the date of performance, the venue and the seat location.

We were very sorry to hear that some customers were not happy with the deal. With customer service a paramount for both MyCityDeal and viagogo we would like to resolve any issues that may have occurred.

This was the first time MyCityDeal and viagogo have collaborated and as viagogo is a real time market place, prices are subject to change. Please be assured that the same tickets were not available on the ‘main viagogo site.’ In addition, viagogo removed the regular commission charge per transaction to make the deal even better for MyCityDeal customers.

As a result, MyCityDeal and viagogo are pleased to announce that we will now change the coupon value from £50 off to £60 off to ensure customers feel more satisfied with the deal, plus more tickets will be added to the special MyCityDeal page.

This will be valid until 09/05/10. Your voucher number remains the same as in your original deal confirmation email. Click here to redeem your voucher.

We have learnt valuable lessons from this, and will work with viagogo to ensure any future deals that we bring to you are more satisfying and rewarding.

If you have any questions, please call our customer services team who will be happy to help 0800 007 5719.

Best wishes,

The MyCityDeal Team
