I sell these same telly's in work for £2000, the picture quality is amazing and i think we worked it out that if you watch telly for 8 hours a day the plasma will not degrade for 20 years!!

Not that I can afford such things, but if I were getting a 50", I'd want it to be in 1080p, not 720p.

Me too, but good luck getting a 1080p plasma for under 5 grand. 1080p LCDs around this size and quality tend to be around £2500 to £3000, while the Sony 55" LCoS 1080p is £1600 or so.
