Product Information

Please note: This TV features an integrated Freeview HD tuner which will allow you to watch subscription-free HD broadcasts. To watch Freeview HD broadcasts you’ll need to check that you can receive it in your area. Click here to find out more about Freeview HD.
Sit back and enjoy stunning HD images with this Panasonic Viera TX-P50S20 50” plasma television.

Its state-of-the-art technology gives amazing picture quality, with the 600Hz Intelligent Frame Creation giving fantastic resolution even during fast moving scenes – something football fans and film buffs will both appreciate.

The TX-P50S20 uses Infinite Black technology to achieve exceptional contrast. This results in purer blacks and brighter whites, giving you sharper and more lifelike pictures. You’ll also enjoy enhanced colour reproduction thanks to x.v.Colour technology. Plus the Immersive V-Audio Surround will make it sound like you're in the middle of the action.

It is also capable of playing footage straight from your camcorder in high-definition mode and you can view a slideshow of your photos - just remove the SD memory card from your digital still camera, and slip it in the slot. The 3 HDMI sockets allow you to hook-up your Blu-ray player, PVRs and games consoles with ease.

This television is ‘high definition ready’ which means it has the ability to display high definition signals with the addition of a separate HD receiver. HD broadcasts are at a much higher resolution than regular analogue or digital broadcasts and have greatly enhanced picture quality. The level of detail is astonishing with clearer, sharper and more vibrant images.

Full HD 1080p
1080p is the purest form of high definition that a television can display. This leads to a smoother, more film-like image, which will satisfy sports and movie lovers alike. With a 1080p signal, the information that makes up an image is displayed “progressively” or all at once, rather than in an “interlaced” fashion.

Just a slight issue of SD pictures being not too brilliant but HD pics are excellent.

its given away free. gratis, for nowt. it cant be worth a coupla hundred. they give it away with all their TVs.
plus its only 4 years, cos you get the same service as the first year, which is free anyways.
so it should say free 4 year warranty.

Richer Sound 'Price Beat' policy will mean £789 with 5yr warranty. Leeds Store will honour this I am led to believe..

I was thinking of buying this for my Gran who only has Sky SD at the moment. Can I have someones honest opinion on whether there are better TV's in this price range and size for primarily SD viewing. Thanks in advance.

The LG 50PK590 might be worth a shot.
Good reviews but can't touch Panny for image retention.

LG 50PK590 Review here

Personally prefer Panasonic and ordered 46" S20 model for £599 with 5yr warranty from my local [email protected] dealer. Also haggled a free quality HDMI lead and a quality wall bracket for £30 (originally £110).

Consider Richer Sounds if interested in 50" model of Panny at £699.

Thanks for the reply, what do mean for image retention. Is that a bad thing or good thing?
