like hell it does

most people couldnt even tell the difference between 1080p blu ray and the same blu ray on a 720p plasma

I sell these things for a living.
I look at them all day.

do you even own a tv

I get this stuff all day "Me mate says get one thats 1080p"
unless you have a Blu Ray or PS3 playing blu ray movies, you'll not see the benefit from from a 1080p screen when watching tv thru an aerial or standard Virgin/Sky box.

if you don't own a blu ray or ps3 and don't intend to buy one, save money, buy some decent quality scart cables instead of pound shop jobs.

if you have a DVD upscaler that says 1080p is SIMULATED and not true high def.
any HDMI cable will do for this.

I nearly bought a 15" tv for the kids bedroom today, it wasnt 1080p so i didnt bother, anyone know when the 1080p 15" tv's are coming out ?
#11
Is this the same as the Littlewoods direct deal? Same group aren't they?
#12
Marshal Ward is the new Dixons.
I wouldn't touch them with yours.
#13
All my programs I watch are in 1080p, believe me on a screen that big switching back to 720p will make it look stretched and blocky!! For those still not with me, less resolution means more blocky!!

you what?

what tv stuff do you watch in 1080p?
UK tv even Sky/virgin HD is not broadcast in 1080p

even american hi def channels are in 1080i or 720p
dvd upscalers only simulate
so do you ONLY watch blu ray?

you have no idea what you're talking about.
clearly.

we have the same plasma at the shop i work in, showing blu ray.
it looks stunning.

i have the 42" version at home too.
looks great on virgin media, hooked up to my pc with an ATI Radeon HD2600 pro thru an HDMI and playing back Hi Def MKV and blu ray rips.

Yes, and Play 1080p games, maybe you should be looking for a new job or optician if you cant tell the difference, as there must be something wrong with your eyes!! :w00t:

Plus if id did want to watch a 720p rip in 1080p i'd use a bettery upscaller than a standalone, i.e ffdshow filters etc...
