Are these good for burning backup XBox 360 games?
Have used these in the past to record on - they are just as good as the sony and phillips ones I have had
Good find! Anyone found any decent cheap DL's?
DL - decent media cheap at SVP (10% of until today) see their newsletter on their home page

BTW - Staples BOGOF (25 Verbatim DVD -R / +R @ £10.99) so couple of pounds cheaper than PC World deal.
Verbatim are a good brand, but they do vary in what media quality they're using. If anyone buys some, please check the code - the absolute top quality ones are YUDEN, or for DVD-R they're TYG02. These are pretty much the best discs money can buy.

Slightly less good are MCC 00x, or for -R MCC 0xRG20. MCC are still very good discs though.
The country of manufacture is a good guideline for the media code :

Verbatim Taiyo Yuden (TY) - Made in Japan
Verbatim Mitsubshi Chemicals (MCC) - Made in Taiwan

I agree that Tayio Tuden is 1st Class media with the MCC as runner up.
I've had problems with some Verbatim batches used on very high quality, correctly functioning hardware. This has put me off. I'm sticking with superior brands such as Maxell & TDK.

Maxell DVD+R or DVD-R 100pk Spindle from play.com = 23p each inc. delivery

ive had problems with Verbatim + & - i stick to philips now also ive found bigpockets to be the cheapest to buy my discs
The guys on CDfreaks are the experts, they tend to burn massive amounts of discs and scan them obsessively for problems. They did surveys on the best discs, + and - respectively:

Of course, some hardware might not like particular discs - usually fixed by upgrading firmware. However, Taiyo Yuden is pretty much universally considered the best one going. Not only have I never had a single coaster from 100s of their discs, but they're all perfect when scanned (PI errors <2.0, PIFs 0.04), and that's with a pretty poor burner too.
Anyone got any deals on Verbatim DL?
Cheapest I have seen Dual layer is SVP, Ooops should not have said because they sell out quickly.

10 disks around £17 + delivery

Cheaper if you sign up with them.
Too late - Verbatim DL 10 disks already sold out at SVP

Verbatim DL 10 disks was a bargain @ £14.90 (includes HotUKDeals member discount).

Also, even less today with the 10% off code ( Promo Code: 10offdl )

Yep, that's where I usually get them - witht he HOTUKDEALS discount.

The postage puts the price up a fair bit though.
