#5
plenty of stock available in my area. makes a change :)

There's something about the Dixons site that makes me not want to order online, thanks for this Curry's offer (same company).

I was looking for these cheaper but inc. delivery can't find a better offer than Dixons or this one. Asda did the 25pk for £3 but its not all stores

Just picked up a 50 pack spindle before my local shut at 8pm. I was just praying for this sort of deal to come along as am in the process of installing a new OS and needed to back up a couple of files on DVD as well. Thanks OP, heat and rep added!

Yeah they are £7.50 when you reserve, but are they £19, instore price, when you pick them up?

By the way I've generally used DVD+R discs, a habit I picked up from my first DVD Recorder, but I've noticed DVD-R are generally the same price or a little cheaper. Any reason why I should stick to +R or should I be less picky?
#11
thanks ordered h+r :)
#12
thanks reserveded a couple of packs...always come in handy,,,
#13
Thanks
Went to get more online through Dixons last weekend and that offer had ended.
#14
If you want 2 packs it may be worth putting in 2 orders, when I did the Dixon offer they put 2 packs in one bag, result 1 & 1/2 packs!

Pick up in store may be the safer option.

svp have these Verbatim 16x Taiyo Yuden Branded DVD+R in Packs of 50 £8.85 99 pence shipping over 30 quid spend the best discs you can buy with the ty die in the + format, the currys and dixon ones wont be the ty die i wouldnt think. only downfall is you need to spend £30 for 99p shipping and has to be less than 10 kilos.

None at a Currys near me, but managed to get some from the nearby PC World

Good deal, have noticed prices of dvd-r and +r have gpone up in recent years. They are 9.51 from scan.
Verbatim are top notch and worth buyingh if you want less coasters and also your recording to sruvive over time.

Used to burn a lot of discs, but now HD are so cheap thats a much superior method imo.

was going to buy some for archiving, but not so sure, knowing they are produced in India. interesting article. http://adterrasperaspera.com/blog/2006/10/30/how-to-choose-cddvd-archival-media

Its a mixed bag of where they are made, could be Japan (although I rarely see these anymore), Taiwan, India, China and possibly Singapore.

I'd prefer to have mine on DVDs.
If your hard drive packs up and you can't access it anymore you're stuffed.
#22
A good deal, but I really need +R rather than -R, I don't suppose they have DVD+R as well at a similar price by any chance?
#23
Good deal, also noticed the Morrisons beside us have 50 Memorex DVD-R for the same price as well.
#24
Nice one.
#25
Thanks, got the last ones from Middlebrook, Horwich (well I got 2 and the assistant took one for himself, as he couldn't believe the price - naughty)

Have some heat

Good find. I reserved one pack from Curry's (shown as In Stock). When I collected, they said they were in fact out of stock but sold me two packs of 25 for the discount price.

i reserved a couple of packs at my local store a couple of weeks ago and when i went to collect i said i wanted to check where they were made before i paid, thankfully they were made in taiwan.

Obviously if you have them home delivered its a gamble but if you receive india ones you could always return them unopened saying they're not compatable with your drive etc.

anybody know what the sku is?

NOTE:
Nothing to do with where they are made and who makes them.
It's all about how they are made and did they follow the correct process.

We all know what happened to Toyota.

Ye , thats true, shame about Toyota and now Honda as well, I think have been having some problems, its the younger generation of workers I suppose, they just dont have the pride in their work.

Nice deal
#36
got two today from my local currys..made in taiwan...
#37
Thanks for the post. I went to my local Currys who had 3 made in Taiwan / one made in UAE / 2 made in India, but only in DVD+. However they were very helpful and gave me the discount so I bought the 3 Taiwan and the UAE DVD+ 50 DVD for £30.

No idea how the disks made in the UAE will perform.
