I havent seen t&c yet either i think you can check in store info for t&c.

Very much worth it for very old phones, especially if your a points collector.

I am thinking of trawlling carboots now for cheap mobiles to turn into points at tesco:thumbsup:

Nice find, I have a really old Philips thing envirofone wouldn't give monies for :)
#6
Its says you get 500 points if it switches on, so it would make sense to charge it up before sending it off (assuming it does still work).
#7
excellent idea....great post
#8
Has anyone seen the list of which cartridges they accept?
#9
Great idea! I’m up for any ideas that don’t involve chucking the phone in the bin or worse of all passing it on to my mum. Then putting up with the constant questions on basic functions or trying to work out her own style of texting!!

Dont forget to times it by 4 if you change them for MFI vouchers.

This offer runs out in MARCH though!
#11
been looking on their website...lokks like 300 points to me unless this is a different offer

Just got a leaflet through the post saying 500 points so I guess they've just not updated the web-site yet. That ink cartridge one looks interesting though, what's the cheapest you can buy an ink cartridge?

I think you can use them in MFI until the end of April.

As for the other point about 300/500 points, I received a leaflet to say it had now gone up to 500 points for a phone that switches on and 100 for one that doesn't - a lot more points than before.
Before people go out and buy loads of cheap phones though I'm pretty sure you are limited to 5 per year per clubcard.

I think I've got one knocking about that still has some life in it.
#15
Now we know why some people are asking for stacks of old useless mobiles :x :x :x

I am in exactally same boat, only difference is..........I have only just been shamed into buying a new phone as my daughters are mortified when the ring tone and message tones go off whilst they are with me! :whistling: :whistling:

Same here, gonna give it a go. It just says they have to switch on don't they?
#26
just a quicky to say that you'ld be surprised at how much faulty phones go for on eBay. Certainly more than £5. My wife dropped her phone down the toilet a while ago - completely dead. I got over £30 for it on eBay. I'm sure it depends on the model but it might be worth a look.

Went into Tesco yesterday to pick up an envelope, but they only had ones that offered 300 points, i have requested an envelope online.

Hope this helps - just received this email from tesco on where to send your old phone to and its free post.

"You can send your old phone to us in your own envelope, addressing it to: Tesco Mobile Recycling, FREEPOST LON17592, Mitcham, CR4 3UZ – please read the Terms & Conditions below before sending your phone:
Terms & Conditions
Either 500 Green Clubcard Points will be award to you or £5 to the British Red Cross if your phone turns on; or 100 Green Clubcard Points to you or £1 to the British Red Cross if your phone does not turn on. You must include a piece of paper with your phone with your Clubcard number, Surname, Postcode & Email address – this information is solely for us to award your points and contact you if there are any discrepancies.
You should also clearly write on this piece of paper “My phone turns on” or “My phone does not turn on” along with the word “Charity” or “Clubcard” – if you write the word charity, or if you do not have a Clubcard, Tesco will make the respective donation to the British Red Cross; if you write the word “Clubcard” the Green Clubcard Points will be awarded to you. Is there a limit to how many phones you can send in?
I've got a few really old ones sitting around...
#30
It doesn't say anything about sending more than one but as its free post just put them in seperate envelopes.

Cool.

I've had a dig around the site and can't see them mentioning anything.

Woo Hoo!

Does the phone have to have charge in it for them to know if it turns on, or do they do that themselves with a tester thingy? (I'm very technicle I know!)

I reckon it's best to send it charged, there's no reason not to is there? They probably can't tell if it turns on if it's not charged. If it doesn't turn on then put that it does as you might still get the extra points, they might not try it or might just assume it's out of juice, or give you the benefit of the doubt thst it did work when you sent it.

I seem to remember someone saying earlier that there's a limit of like 4 a year per clubcard or something, so that's 8 between me n the misses anyway! Better to get it in writing from Mr.T's. They wrote me an e-mail to say there's no limit to the ammount of ink cartridges you can send back but there's a very small list of ones that they accept.
#35
I believe theres a limit of 5 phones per person/household? per year.
#36
bump :)
#37
Why oh why didn't I see this before I threw away the 3 mobiles I had that didn't work :-(
#38
sent them 3 of my old mobiles(1st feb 2007) still waiting for points.
#39
Yeah I was going to say actually, I've sent off my phone and still not received the points yet.
