Good deal, pitty they are all 18 month contract:?

£170 term cost though, averaging £9.44/month after quidco with NO cashback.

If you do not mind three this is good for the hassle free value.

Are 3 ok, my dads contract runs out on 6th Feb, ;ast one was cashback and was a hassle chasing after it, hes a lorry driver so will be all over UK and sometimes France/Belgium

I heard the signal is bad, or didn't quite hear as the case may be! But what do I know?

I think the e2save deal
http://www.e2save.com/mobile/phones/disphandset.php?network=o2&handset=1600&PHPSESSID=271c84595f3677dffa4cfb8b4143c787

is a better one as the effective term cost is -£2.50 after quidco for 400 minutes and 100 texts. If you don't need the phone you can £25 on ebay so you'll be up £20-£30!

Cashback can be a hassle but e2save and CPW are pretty good at paying up.

There can be signal problems, but I would say no more than other networks. Most of their previous problems appear to stem back to the phones, I've been with 3 now for 18 months, first phone with them was a Nokia 6630, signal used to drop off in various areas, went for one of their discounted deals when that contract ended and got a nokia N70, where the 6630 would lose signal, the N70 works no problem.

If the phone can't get a 3g signal, it drops down to the 2g network which 3 leases from O2

Thanks deanos - just a note though that when listing prices we generally avoid considering Quidco or other site cashback in there. It's ok to mention it but as a rule of thumb leave it out of the price listed.

3 told me they had changed from O2 to Orange. I didn't notice any difference though so was suspicious... as where I live the 3 signal is borderline and kept losing calls and I know Orange signal is perfect where I live.

It all depends where you live as to whether 3 is good for you. I have just changed to Orange for the above reason. O2 signal is non existent here. So really I have a choice of Voda/Orange/T-Mobile. The service from 3 was good though.

Yes Searcher2 is right there have now gone for Orange as their back up, but my understanding is that if 3 is bad, the signal then goes to Orange....but if they're maxed out, Orange customers get priority therefore you could loss calls....mind you I think that may only happen at Xmas or new year...

I have been with 3 for over 2 years now and never had a problem with signals etc. I drive for a living and only now and again lose signal but this happens with all networks depending on where you are, but chances are you will get a good signal unless you live way out in the sticks. I have currently got the LG u400 Neo phone. What a cool phone and mp3 player, and is also a slide front. I have never found anyone to match 3's contracts, so just keep taking out new contracts with them. Mine have all been 12 month contracts.

The deal is ok if you live in a 3 friendly area and do not send texts.
Personally my experience with 3 was terrible..they were called 3 cos you only used to get 3 minutes before you lost the signal.:?

My coolnewmobile cashback deal contract ends soon, could I go with 3 again buying this deal?
#14
yes:thumbsup:
#15
Offers still on folks
#16
They had similar on during most of Q3/4 last year too.

Ideal for anyone who wants to average under a tenner in rental and doesn't want cashback.
#17
or texts
#18
Yeah thats why i got it for my dad, he sends about 3 texts a month and cant be bothered with claiming and chasing cashback all the time

did coolnewmobile pay you your cashback -- heard dodgy stuff about them?
#20
No problems with coolnewmobile at all, have got all my cashback so far.

Sorry that I have used this as my 1st post but it looks like this tariff only attracts £70 quidco cashback and not £100 as stated so you may want to alter the thread title

Hi

Freddy,

So you got the £70 when you took out this contract deal? Thats pretty quick!

I thought it would take around 2-3 months?! Oh well...deals sounds even better...

Does anyone know if you can use those free international calls which have an access number which is more like a normal mobile number? 07785.....etc etc

Offer ends soon folks
