yup, each way at £49+

If you go into the booking section you can actually get a day/overnight trip for £49. It works outs £22 outbound and £27 for the return leg or vice versa.

Trans europa at Ramsgate .>>Ostende and Norfolk Line Dover >>Dunkirk seem to offer constant good value used Norfolk line for short breaks generally £40 ish return

I just tried to look at bookings for a day trip out on Easter Saturday (23rd March).
£27 each way (10:00am outwards, 6:00pm inwards) - so you can get a cheap price.

I think this is the best crossing.

You pay for each trip - so dont get screwed over for the duration.

http://www.speedferries.com/

It takes about an hour to cross.

Check their prices - and buy a ten trip ticket if you are a regular.

Have to agree with Ibiza - Speedferries are great. The port of boulogne is a lot smaller so its a lot quicker - no lorries etc., and they use the old Hoverport, so u dont even have to drive through Dover either. Never had any problems with them and usually pay around £20 each way. Much faster crossing too (ferry).

Me too, they're fantastic. can;t understand how they do it for the price. Great service. The crossing is less than an hour if I remeber right - 45/50 mins ish. Been a few times and great every time. Even the rip-off P&O have had to respond by lowering prices - bout time - mind you they're still uncompetitive. and the service is worse if anything. rant over.

But if speedferries gets delayed your screwed because they only have one boat. You just have to wait until they can accomodate you. Seafrance all the way.

good deal

Thank you! Have managed to book two weekends leaving Sat am and returning Sun pm, one of which is the half term so was suprised. Both came to £56 return.

If you use the link already above, click on the part of the homepage that says - how to get the best prices and go from there.

There are a lot of days showing as £22 - £27 outward and the same return. You can pick and choose the prices as it gives them against the timetable you choose from. Depending upon the time you return, the price can go up to £35 making the total about £65 all in for a return. If you are lucky / happy enough to travel early and come home late then the price is from £22 each way.

My two day booking was the same as the day trip price. You have to check in 30 mins early but can use a nifty self-service facility making it pretty painless.

The price of the deal depends entirely on your choice of times / dates. I am really pleased to find this as I was about to book the ferry and the tunnel is soooooo much easier for me to get to.
