Now that is an excellent price! I cannot find cheaper elsewhere. 8)

Cheap!, though only 1 year warranty on Dixons/Pc world drives.

You still have the 3 years with the manufacturer.

Only if it's not a grey import which this probably is.

hdd at this price is hot - heat added

Would this work in a PS3 as a replacement for the internal drive? I have one of the original 60GB consoles and space is a premium.

Wouldnt be so sure about that. I bought a 250GB Seagate hdd from PC World over a year. When I took it back (cos it had problems) they passed me onto the manufacturer... they replaced it no problem.

PS3 uses a 2.5 inch harddrive suited for laptops. This is a 3.5".

At that price, I'll try and kick my spare PC back into life. Just ordered one, thank you.
Heat added.

Something that has been brought into the country by someone other than the official importer. You often find that retailers can buy items cheaper in other countries and import them. The disadvantage is that the warranty will not be upheld by the official importer - items either need to be returned to the country of origin or the retailer.

It is very common to find items of computer equipment or camera gear sold through the Asian distribution network turning up in the UK. You need to make a judgement as too how good the cost saving is compared to the difficulty in making a warranty claim if something goes wrong.

Just checked this deal on Dixons site and the deal is still on!! not sure why its been expired
Great Find Thanks!
#17
Thanks very much for this. It has NOT expired.

We just had a hard disk fall over this morning but at that price (£23 inc. post) that's a steal, couldn't get a 250GB anywhere else for that price!
#18
I'm getting:

"Sorry, this product is currently not available."

..and being redirected to a 250gb at £25 - which is a shame, because this deal would be perfect for me.
#19
Had it in my basket then it all froze - and suddenly it wasn't there - redirecting me the same as previous poster now. Oh well......
#20
It has gone now, it just couldnt make its mind up for about 15 min. Im guessing people ordering/canceling etc.

#23
It still works! I've just ordered one! Exactly what I needed 8)
#24
Defintely not expired, just ordered one, thank op. Used Quidco too, to get a further 4% off, so just over £22.00 for a 500MB hard drive - damn good deal, I reckon!
#25
Not sure who expired this (or why) but it lost out in some valuable 'heat-time'.

LOL, its all good! :p

Good price but it's Hitachi, who aren't the most reliable of HDD makers (over Samsung/Seagate/WD).

Could have had a Samsung 1.5TB for virtually same price at Scan on their Today Only deal recently....

Well, I believe many of us think about a raid and that would be difficult with one single 1.5 GB HDD :-)
