Bonjour

Apple Bonjour enables automatic discovery of computers, devices, and services on Computer networks.

BitTorrent Certified

BitTorrent is the global standard for distributing high-quality files over the Internet. You can begin your download and then turn your computer off while your TV shows or Music tracks download. With thousands of newly-released movies, TV shows, music tracks, and popular PC games available for download, you can easily find what you want, when you want it.

The Advantage of this feature is two fold, the first being that powerconsumption of the unit is sub 25 Watts per hour compared to over 200 Watts per hour on a standard PC. The second being that most PC hard drives are not designed for the volume of usage they expirrence when downloading and hence shorten the lifespan of the drive within the computer.

Buffalo Web Access

Buffalo's unique Web Access feature allows you to access your pictures, music, or other files through your PC, Mac or iPhone from anywhere in the world! No software is necessary and minimal configuration gets you started!

This feature allows both download and upload of your Data any where in the world.

DLNA Certified

The Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) is an international, cross-industry standard designed to enable communication between your various consumer electronic products, and mobile devices. Therefore enabling easy media streaming between devices.

Your DLNA certified personal computer, consumer electronics and mobile devices communicate with each other and link together to form an interoperable network.

Time Machine

This one as it has bit torrent, so you can just download from a laptop or something, and then just turn it off, no need to keep on overnight.

I purchased one... Went back to view other items on ebay and just purchased the 1TB. You can have a NAS back up of the original. You'll never lose both. You can also have one for the kids, and another for you.
#10
good price, and easy to put newer firmware (if you need Stevie Wonder's) and easy to upgrade the drive. Around £66 for the 2 Tb Samsung.

Bought. Good price.

Not worth buying the 1TB RAID at twice the price (still good price), you may as well have device redundancy as well as HDD redundancy.
#14
Great price for this model, and should be easy enough to put in a bigger hard drive. The 500GB drive on its own is worth £25 - £30
#15
I was going to buy the 1TB version, but really not happy that it was free delivery then they changed it to 8.00
Will buy this and see how it goes should be good for the ACRYAN and I dont have to leave my PC on all the time.

Ordered thanks OP.

Just what I'd been looking for. Looks like it should easily set up through the media server to port films and music to a console too.

Good find, op

I meant the product itself not the seller :) , I am sorry if I was not clear about it
#23
i hope u realise these r refurbished...
#24
You can hack these - bit more work than earlier Linkstations (later firmwares have no Telnet so you need to downgrade/use a custom firmware).

Opening them is a PITA too - you WILL break the notches which hold them together so be prepared to tape them up again when you're done :)

Thats was the post says, you think you are going to get a new 500gb nas for this price?
Plus 1 year warranty
#26
Great deal, gonna connect this up to wdtv, and watch films and tv on the big screen.
#27
I would only be interested if I could add a bigger drive easily. If I need to break it to add a bigger drive theres no point.

How is that better, doesnt have bit torrent,

It costs less and not everyone wants bit torrent, also for the people that know how to Google and know how to use bit torrent will know you can mod it to do just about anything... inc bit torrent. Also they are in stock so that's always nice.

listing has ended :(

Anyone know if these link up to Apple TV? Just thinking for when the next deal of this type becomes available. Thanks...

I bought a Synology NAS and saw this one when deciding.

The Synology totally obliterates this one in terms of Speed, Interface, Options, Noise, Capabilities etc. If your needs are very low level, this is ok but is noisy (worst of all).
