This is a 3.5" drive isn't it rather than a portable 2.5" drive?

andywedge posted one for 37.99 couple of days back iirc,
500gb is bad value per gig and for a 'few' quid more can get a portable 500gb or a powered 1tb.
that said, if you must have a 3.5inch 500gb then its not a bad price if andywedges deal is over.
