I was after one of these for some time and managed to get one from Lidl yesterday for £4.99!

Still a good price @ £6.50 from the OP, though!

Which LIDL?

They were on sale for £4.99 at Netto last year, but the one I got did not work and they had none left when I returned mine:x

WARNING!
Woolworths often have these on sale at half price (£4.99)
I bought one last year, and it burnt out within a matter of days. It got ridiculously hot & totally fried the bulb.
I would not buy another. Just my experience...

oh dear, just ordered one for in-store pick up as I'd been looking to buy one of these.

any hassle with it and it goes straight back !!

These give off an enourmous amount of heat, not suitable for outside use, near kids animals etc...

I have one and its been working fine for over a year, going to pick up another couple,

We got one of these from LIdl ourselves a couple of years ago, they do indeed give out some heat for sure, good for night time jobs where light is failing this time of year, sadly i accidentally "rested" ours in a none too stable place, it fell and broke.

Good for the price, even better if you can find one cheaper at Aldi or Lidl...however dont run them for long, unless you actually enjoy being fleeced by your 'lecy board for your lovely KWH.

Anyone thinking of using these outdoors should think twice, even though the description says it's suitable.

You' re safer getting a 110v product for outdoor use.

for those with a screwfix trade counter nearby, pop in as i bought 3 of these from my local store about 4 months ago, and im sure they were a bit cheaper than these..........also plenty of alternatives available at low prices

Sorry - I meant to say Netto! Doh!

In Birkenhead!

Should be some left if they haven't all been 'lifted!

According to Netto website:
http://www.netto.co.uk/internet/nettog/menu/main.nsf

They are for sale @ £4.99 Monday 11 Feb

Although a bit dearer, these are much better. As they do not get hot, & only use 1/10 of the power.
And are easily just as bright.

So full price used to be £9.99 not £17.00??? or was it a different product?

Says equivalent to 150w. So this 500w light is less than equivalent to 150w .

Now that's really inefficient.

You don't really know much about this, do you?:whistling:

These things contain a halogen bulb. It is important to let the thing cool fully before moving, and not to move it whilst on, otherwise the bulb WILL fail very quickly!
(I think you can get replacement bulbs in B&Q very cheaply)

Yes indeed. My bulb blew and I replaced it with a 300W. It runs a lot cooler and I think the 300W is a more sensible bulb. For me, anyway.

I picked up a few bulb packs from B&Q today. They're selling 150W, 300W and 500W twin bulb packs for just £1 each!

It's a very useful light; I use it in the attic and when I'm working on my car and van.
