Tesco vouchers die on you if you don't use them within 2 years. For anybody who is not aware of your current voucher life remaining: GO NOW to your Tesco Clubcard account and click on vouchers - all will display the expiry dates.

Not got any use in mind? No problem - buy 50p (which gets you £1) in Delivery Saver Plan coupons. The remaining balance on your coupon will be given back to you in 'change' with another 2 years of life. Leaving you free to build up a bigger total towards something good. Perhaps Tesco will bring back the Boost Events in time? This way you can stash your coupons for better usage.

How does it work? Say, you've got a £50 voucher - but it's going to expire, oh no. You spend 50p on the £1 Delivery Saver Coupon. You get back £49.50 in change with a new 2 years life on the voucher.

No point keeping them for long, when inflation is like 5-7% or even worse who knows..

You don't even need to spend 50p.. Buy anything from tesco direct with the vouchers. Then cancel the order. You will then get the new vouchers with 2 years validity.

If you have expired vouchers, you can also write to them and they will renew them - mine were 6 months out of date

I think you got lucky - Tesco customer services have been instructed to 'be nice' as opposed to the old mentality - but that's against the T&Cs

Don't think it was luck - was advised to do so by their customer services. I wrote a nice letter and they kindly renewed them.

by 'luck' I don't mean that you didn't work at it or deserve the outcome - well done on getting the points renewed

most people would either just understand the vouchers had expired & give up, or phone customer services & be told the vouchers were dead

you are probably in a tiny minority of people who have got around the expiry rules, I congratulate you on your charm & persuasiveness :)

Haha - just thought it was worth informing people that it's worth a try if their vouchers have completely expired:)

Me too.
Found several vouchers that'd been mislaid and which had expired. As they totalled £45, I called C.S. and was advised to write to the Clubcard people and explain situation. I didn't really expect them to be replaced, but it was worth a try. I was pleasantly surprised when they agreed to credit my Clubcard a/c with £45 worth of points, although it was made clear it wouldn't be done again with expired vouchers. (I'm more careful with them now!)

Well ...... if you don't ask (nicely!), you don't get! :). Seriously, it was a genuine oversight on my part, so was worth a try.
(And, even better - they were used in part-payment for son's new PS4 bundle in Tesco's last/final 'double up' offer!)
