Do you mean THIS THREAD? That's the only 52" Sony TV I can find and it's a different model...

You be careful with that shift button now :)

That model in the comet thread is the newer model. This model V4000 Series is last years model, so costco are probs shifting them, I think its still expensive compared to the V5500 for £1062 at comet.

Thank you. That's the best laugh I've had in days :-) +rep

And usually includes the 5 year guarantee too from Costco.

I cant decide on weather to get this or the new 46" samsung LED 8000, size and price or quality?
#13
I know this is a 'budget' store but christ that website could have done by an 8 year old!

Also that comment about the shift button had me in stiches too!:p

H&R added but this site:

http://www.pixmania.co.uk/uk/uk/1434164/art/sony/kdl-52v4000-lcd-televisio.html

claims a price of £892 (£714 second hand) + Delivery. Can't find their link for a new one tho.

Does anyone know if this is a 50Hz screen only?

This years array of 52" Sony offerings... the V5500 being the equivalent I guess

I'm a Sony man through and through and have had a Sony 32 CRT for last 9 years - fancied one of these or New Eco Sony's, but went to the dark side and had a Samsung PS50B850 delivered Mon - awesome 50" Plasma just 2.95 cm thick!
#17
not that good of a deal. that model is over a year old, low contrast, only 50hz and you can get better 50-52"s for the same price. you could easily get a quality newer 50" plasma for this with change. voted cold
#18
I can only imagine how bad a freeview picture must look on this TV....it looks awful on a 40 inch Bravia so its got to be a lot worse on this monster.
#19
I'd rather pay £100 less and getthe 40" 200hz model from Costco

For quality, the Samsung is miles better.

This is a two year old telly. Not a very good deal I'm afraid.

You can get the latest version 52V5500 for less than £1050

Oh and sony give further cashback on that price......

Morons who insist on typing with the caps lock button on have their posts converted to 'Title Case So We Can All See How Dim They Are'.

Oh, and I'm voting cold as you can buy a 50 inch Panasonic TX - P50G10 for about a grand and it wipes the floor with this.
#23
I've just ordered a 42" G10 with stand/rack for £711 delivered. I was tempted to post that here

Seems like a good price for a really nice screen. But I have seen some awesome deals on full hd 50" Panny plasmas for around £650 recently. Is this twice as good ?

I dont think so personally. Still great price for this set.

oooooooooook well samsung isnt miles better not even a cm i would love to see any samsung benchmark against a sony true the v4000 isnt that good and old but the latest W5500 and W5800 are only £1549 in 52" in the shops with a 5 year warrenty. And the W series have won there group test now 4 years in a row and just become product of the year :-D
