I guess you get what you pay for. This will be 4K and big. But that's about it.

It's a 1080p screen.

Polaroid Tv's work technically different to the latest technologies. In simplistic terms they take a series of stills and put them together at speed to give the illusion of movement (a bit like the when you flick the corner of a notepad with different pics on each page), compared to other Tv's which actually render moving pictures.

That is how all TVs work.

I wonder which one has been reduced. Asda's site has two 55" TV's listed, a Series 3 (this one) and a slightly different Series 1. The one linked on this deal is the Series 3, its a Vestel but the other 55" is (possibly) manufactured by someone else. I might pop into Asda later one and check, looking for a cheap bedroom TV and could be tempted by one of these.

... Polaroid TVs do in fact work differently to other manufacturers ...
... I read that you have to blow on the screen or shake it about for a series of pictures to develop ...

almost like a set of photographs maybe ?

The excitement of telling people that you've bought a 55 inch TV, then you tell them the brand.......

It's a cheap TV, it'll be better than most 10 year old TV's and won't be as good as the latest ones. If your eyesight isn't perfect then you may not even care.
We all know that come black Friday this will be discounted further and people will be beating each other over the heads with it, at least Asda won't lose as much money when it's wrapped around someone's head.

Its the series 3 one - its a smart tv and I bought one this morning. Not sure why its not a hot pick for everyone, for the price (and i also got staff discount off of this which is even more worth the money) but it has a good picture and sound.. Im not about to pay for 4k and top of the range brand when we have a tight budget.. anyone looking for a big cheap tv - well this looks like a great deal!

This one only has 2x hdmi. Model number is P55FS0756A

Don't know why it's cold. Is it cheaper elsewhere? I think not.
