Very good deal in my opinion, decent onions are usually around 80p for 1KG. You can get smart price bags at around 80p for 2kg but the quality isn't as good with them.

I just bought some onions today at a dearer price -- it's enough to make a grown man cry:cry:

should keep for 2-3months if you store them in a cold dark place(cellar/pantry) and don't bruise them.
#3
bloody bargain....i tell you....

onions stored in a cool and dry location (ie garage) will last all winter and spring, best to hang them up so they don't get squashed, traditionally on string but now just as easy with old tights.

which asda was this offer seen in???

Sorry mate, just bagged the last lot in Burnley. Had a trolley piled high!

Well, all normal shops sell 5KG for £1 always... Only supermarkets sell it higher...
There is nothing to gaga over this.

normal shops? Not everyone lives near 'normal shops', some people have to drive to a supermarket to get their weekly shopping.

Think outside of your personal situation; what may not be helpful to you could be helpful to others.

good price but i wouldnt expect these to last anywhere near a couple of months, we bought some cheap onions from asda a couple months back not as many as this though, and within 2 weeks over half of them had started to turn to liquid & they stank. I think the reason they do these big cheap deals is they are bashed & bruised & ready to turn when we buy them. havent voted hot or cold. just thought would warn you guys as to the quality. hope they are better this time.

I know what you mean about the cheap onions, but these were top quality onions-I found no bruised or dirty looking ones!

Just bought a sack in Canterbury, they look nice quality, not manky at all. Haven't cooked them yet...
There were loads there, in the normal onion section near spuds. Should store ok in the garage if they are spread out, so if one does go off it doesn't spread to it's friends.
