Probably because bargain-minded people post the deals on the internet, and the whole population of HUKD and MSE descend upon the stores, buy it all up and don't leave much behind for their normal customers :D I guess store specific offers make us check our locals, not find what we were after but maybe buy something so its not a wasted trip.

I swear that the craftier we get, the craftier THEY get!(_;)

can be, but everyone likes to pretend their more affluent than they are by making 'dry' curries with 2kg of chicken that;ll be eaten before the day is out

My eyes water just from reading this.

BURN THE ONIONS! With heat. :D
#25
Well no not really, Japanese cuisine doesn't really use onion that often.

Just in case, anyone needs confirmation...

...bought 5 bags Sunday noon. Seemed to be plenty in stock but the Display Dates are 27th/28th May.

As for the rather bizarre request for place of origin; these are labelled Suffolk.

Thanks to OP for posting the deal; particularly sweet as I opted not to buy 10kg bags last week at double the price. Now, if only I could find a deal on potatoes...(_;)

Somewhere dry and cool but doesn't have to be the fridge. I keep loads in a covered passage in a plastic vegetable rack for weeks. If you've got a shed that's nice and dry inside that's fine. If not then a dark cupboard. If they're in plastic bags then open it up so they don't sweat. If any start going squishy then take them out. You can take off the squishy layer and the inside will still be fine. If you make your own curries you could make onion paste and freeze it. Plenty of info on google.
