Had my 5min helicopter thrill ride on Sunday with my godson. It was so amazing we saw villages and towns and sheep!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it was brilliant and my godson was thrilled to bits I would recommend this to everyone.

We went from Wolverhamton but I had another look at their website and with this deal you can go from Redhill (Surrey), Long Crendon (Bucks) and Romford in Essex as well.

There is loads of info on the webpage, the offer expires in a couple of weeks but when i bought mine I got a voucher valid for the Summer at all the locations and I had a choice of dates at weekends. Because my godson is under 12 I bought two vouchers but at 19 quid each it was a great deal for us.

If you do one amazing this Summer, make it this cos it was awesome and I got a million brownie points as well :)

.......5 minutes may not sound long but you will remember every single one.
Helicopters are incredibly expensive to run so £19 for the experience is not much to pay if you've never been in one before.

Hot for me

It's 5mins up in the air so you do climb up and have a good look round.

So if you are a family of 4 then it's £76, even a pair is £38.
So the price is not bad if you are going solo, but expensive for more than one person.

I had no idea helicopter seatbelts were that complicated.

I agree it can add up, so maybe it's not for families If people choose to have children maybe they have to sacrifice things like this.

Have you not seen Jurassic Park? :-D

For the individual not a bad value deal actually....assuming the photo shown is the aircraft you would be flying in which is a Bell 206 Jetranger, anyone wanting charter or to learn to fly in this type can expect to pay around £500 + vat per hour for the pleasure. Quite profitable for the operator with backsides on all seats though, if memory serves three in the back and one next to the pilot = £76 per trip, if you allow revenue lost for a few minutes change around of passengers between flights it would still add up to around £700 per hour.

hiya, the photo in the picture is the one we flew in

"villages and towns and sheep!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "

Hmmmm...... that gives me an idea.

OK, send me a tenner and I'll let you watch Emmerdale tonight. When the credits roll you will see those things and more. This is filmed from a camera strapped to the underside of a helicopter. For another £20 I'll send you a DVD of those credits so that you can relive the experience.

(This offer strictly limited to one per customer until I get the hang of making the disks) :p

Or for the small charge of £50, i will send you high quality satellite pictures of your local area without the need to get in a helicopter* :-D

They're making a huge profit on this one, the petrol for 5 minutes flight is a little less than half of that!

Thanks for your support Dave, I think it's a great deal as I've seen other prices for £45 or more.

lol! How about the cost of the helicopter, the maintenance, the pilots wages, the advertising etc
And perish the though that anyone should actually do anything to make money anymore - outrageous! :-D
#20
hmm tempting but 5 mins will just go soo quick imo

Are you seriously saying you have never bought anything that people make high levels of profit on? I certainly hope you haven't bought a pint of soft drink at a pub/restaurant, the profit margin on that would kill you.

This site isn't about getting stuff for prices where the suppliers make no profit, it is about getting stuff for the best possible price. If someone posted a deal on here for pints of Coke at a pub chain for 50p, it would be hot. It doesn't matter than it only costs a few pence for them to produce. (I'm using Coke as an example due to the massive profit margin, there are plenty of other examples too)

Of course, there are other costs such as staff costs, maintenance, insurance, etc, that you seem to have totally ignored anyway. Having a quick look at some of your other posts on HUKD it seems you've made a habit of posting completely pointless comments.

5 minutes ?????? thats rubbish, it takes about 3mins to safely take off and they wont run around for 2mins at a fast speed so FAIL
#23
Great deal!
£19 for 5 mins in a helicopter sounds like a bargain to me, I'm sure there are better deals involving Air Sea rescue but that seems a little extreme and I understand it can also involve being winched up!
#24
5 minutes? They need to make it at least 10.

I went on one last year at RAF Waddington airshow, was a little more than this but was worth every penny. Such a great feeling to be up in one.

Who is the genius behind this 5 minutes flight? He/she must be completely crazy.

The time it takes to get airborne and come down safely back to the ground can easily take 5 min.

Will they stop the helicopter engine if 5 minutes is up in mid air (to save fuel and cost effective for them)? (Theoretically, they could..right)

Anyway.. I think £19 is reasonable price for short helicopter ride but definitely should not be 5 mins.

Jump off a cliff and call the coast guard...
bigger helicopter
more comfortable
longer ride

This is the actual package. The offer is just restricted to those three locations. The total time in the Helicopter is 15 mins. 5 minutes of flight time which I assume means once its at the right height it potters around the sky for 5 mins.

Sounds fun

I agree with your point, they will turn the helicopter off once they reach a safe distance in the air to save fuel. This will scar anyones experience. Its better to fake drown in sea and call helicopter rescue

Lol :-D was just thinking of that.
And it's free too. *Looks for nearest cliff*

On a serious note:
I've been in a Sea King S&R helicopter, but not in the air.

Great deal - In New York a 9 min flight is £125 I guess you are paying to see some of the worlds greatest landmarks but I know my niece and nephew would love a flight in a helicopter. Brings me back to being an army cadet and being chosen for a 20 min flight in a Lynx - combat flying was absolutely awesome - I think health and safety would have something to say these days.

OR don't be so negative! P.S. Emmerdale is copyrighted so i'll report you!!!!

Get a job on an oil rig and you will soon get very bored of helicopters, survival suits, etc.

Much more fun getting out of one upside down in a training pool.

But fun for those who have never flown.
#35
£20 for 5 minutes?? you got ripped off mate, for just £100 you could have 1 hour in an aeroplane at my local airfield and means you can travel up to 50 miles away (works out £8 for 5 minutes) or twice the price for a helicopter ride of a similar status

I think somebody has already said it's 5 minutes after you get in the air...so you get a 5 minute ride, then they take you back. Pretty easy to understand.

It's a brilliant deal, only drawback is the lack of locations.
#38
Sorry cloudybluesky not quite the same - else you could save even more and drive along the top of a cliff pretending to fly. Make sure you look the right way if not ruins the whole experience.
#39
worth it if you have never been in a helicopter before, that way you won't do what I did and pay big bucks for a grand canyon helicopter ride to find out that you hate it and are too scared to open your eyes.:oops:

Great deal, unfortunately, locations make it non-viable for me

Oh, and why do people insist on posting meaningless moans on the comments? For 20 quid, you can do what? Get a family pizza takeout / go to the cinema.

I went to McDonalds with my family last weekend and it cost just shy of £19.00 and it certainly was NOT memorable :w00t:

For the OP, the feeling of being there with his godson would surely make this priceless and thanks to him for posting the deal.

To all you moaners, I wonder if you ever re-read your posts and think "I must find myself something fulfilling to do with my time.......":whistling:
