It does, but this offers better performance. I notice it on it on my M5

Agreed. My Bugatti Veyron(s) love the stuff.

What benefits will I gain in my 800cc Yugo Special edt

you can pour around 5 litres all over the body and seats of the car then introduce a match. Then resulting effect will produce both a heat and light source for several hours

But you pay peanuts for fuel, or should I say gas

Check your vehicle's owner's manual - if it does not recommend the use of 97 RON or greater fuel then you are unlikely to see any benefit from a premium fuel, at least in terms of power.

If it does recommend 97 then any power gains on switching to premium fuel will be due to the engine beginning to perform as it was designed: knocking will be eliminated and the ECU can stop retarding the ignition.

It's not like this petrol contains any more energy than the cheaper stuff (although it may arguably have better detergents to keep fuel lines clean).

Nice. Think I may fill up my McCullock M53. This should mean I can cut the grass in March 4.2% faster than normal

I find my car runs better after I've washed it, but I think that may be a psychological effect.

I tend to find that my car is no faster nor do I get an more MPG but the engine does run smoother. I tend to buy it for my car for a treat when I have treated her badly! X)

Am I missing the point here?

    5p off a litre at £1.40/l is a saving of around 3.5% Whoo-hooo
    In 12 gallon fill that's a saving around £2.72 Whoo-hooo

If your round trip to fill up at the discounted rate is more than 15 miles then it would have cost you more than your £2.72 saving (assuming you get 35mpg).

Good if you are passing a Shell station, but I wouldn't say this is scorching.

Some people dont realise they can use this in a standard petrol car or a higher performance and mapped cars.

    Just not a dieselcar.
  31. marty-401's avatar
Like yarp said....if your vehicle has knock sensors fitted to the engine then the ecu will be able to advance the timming to take advantage of the higher Octane rating and thus give better performance. In fact a lower octane fuel can burn hotter and given the right engine will give more power.

Does this include the Diesel V-Power?
  35. Toon_army's avatar
I have to use this stuff, my cars been remapped to use it. I've used it in all my other cars as its a much cleaner fuel.
I used to even use it 5-6 years ago when it was called Optimax, that stuff smely lovely on full boost in my Rs Turbo lol, it used to make my Subaru Impreza exhaust pop. All Jap imported cars HAVE to use this stuff, otherwise they'll end up in LIMP mode like my dosey friend who filled up without V-power.

So is it ONLY on the 14th? I just filled my tank last night and didn't notice it being cheaper 1.39 per litre it was.

The shell garage nearest to me is always the same price as Asda petrol, not sure what it is but Luton always has the xheapest fuel near me.
  38. Toon_army's avatar
I never even bother to look at ASDA fuel price, would never use supermarket fuel in my car, heard to many horror storys and my car wouldn't let me run on it anyways.
  39. r1chardb's avatar
If you have any of the VAG group Diesel PD engines then they love V Power Diesel. More MPG, more torque and less soot. Worth putting a tank in every now and then to keep it running smooth.
