just buy something tommorow for over £50 and take it back and get a refund. you then get the voucher and keep the clubcard points.

The Garage is closed in Ipswich now for 4/5 weeks so voucher will be waiste of time as gonna have to travel another 20 miles to next tescos to use it, so will just be waisting fuel to get there.

I filled up at Tesco the other week and got over 40 miles more out of a tank than normal (I normally use Asda or Shell). Amazed as I've been doing my normal journeys and I've had the air con on a lot more too. For the record, it's a 58 plate Vectra 1.9Cdti

Asda still the cheapest around tho

You mean Stowmarket? I thought Kesgrave or Martlesham had a garage too?
#17
will petrol prices drop again?
#18
You'd think they'd bring out a Tesco Value fuel in these hard times wouldn't you? ;-)
#19
It only needs one supermarket to drop it then the others will follow , along with the oil companies .

Oil was $147 a barrel last year , petrols was £1.09 , this year it is £71 a barrel , oil is £1.07 in some by me .

I think we need to kill the speculators to survive .

I'd just like to say one thing to the **** who used the diesel pump at tesco before me this weekend, if you do drop the nozzell in a big patch of sand. WIPE THE FECKING THING OFF!

Unbeknown to me, I stick the nozell in, and noticed how gritty it felt, pulled it out and was sand all over the nozzell and inside my pipes.

all because of some dozy bleeping twit. Good job there was a CCTV system installed.

I'll catch you, you @~'#'~'''##'~ and when I @~'''£$" do, I'll £%^" and "££$@'' with a @^&^ up your %$%$# after my mate big Dave gets his &%@~ gimp outfit and ^^@; them as well with some ££$% and &%$ rabid hamster. &*&# your mamma *& the ££$" too.

How's about they just reduce their fuel by 5p a litre....and start a price war?

Exactly! I'm really appalled at Tesco when it comes to fuel....they never have the balls to reduce their fuel prices below the competition....the best they can do is a price match. Now that does not induce a healthy compettion that drops the prices for us consumers, does it Sir Leahy?

Voting cold on this one...if you like cheap fuel, fill up at Asda / Morrisons / Sainsburys, cause they start the price wars!! And in any case, even with Tesco's hyped up discounts, fuel is only 1-2p more expensive...if you're lucky. Factor in the extra £10 you spent instore to get the voucher...and your savings are gone.:-D

You should get a voucher stapled to receipt.

10p off a litre when you spend 40 pound in morrisons. But I only know for sure it is in the Dumfries and Kilmarnock stores!

I agree with you to an extent but that muppet brown has added 2p a litre tax on fuel since then. Also the $ rate isnt as good but I dont understand why that makes such a difference as we have our own oil - Brent.
tesco doesnt even price match on fuel anymore.

I'm sure they'll appear on ebay. Maybe some on here will offer a quid plus postage (not me as I'll get my own & my fiesta only holds about 35 litres from empty - only ever squeezed 33 or 34 in when using voucher).

Something needs to be done about these crazy fuel prices, unfortunately this isn't it! I feel sick when filling up my car with super unleaded now - I am paying 5p a litre more than DIESEL!! :-( Really hurts. You can expect the high prices in the summer and lower prices at Xmas time to be a regular thing each and every year now....

 Not a good plan! If you really want to do this - which I wouldn't recommend - you should not use your clubcard. They will probably take your points back anyway and it may result in a ban from clubcard.

Thanks, will have a look at what Tesco send me this time and query them about the vouchers, last delivery i had the schools vouchers were missing, turned out they had fallen off the receipt in the delivery van, methinks it was the Ghostbusters van originaly maybe!

What good will killing the speculators do ?

They are just as responsible for bringing the price down as well as pushing it up. No doubt a lot of them lost their shirt on the price move down (shame) As you said the barrel price is half but the price per litre is not.

Blame the oil companies for not passing on the decrease and of course the increased fuel duty . . .

wat noooooooo I work opposite Tesco's Copdock and was just thinking I could cash in...!

EDIT - Wait actually Tesco fuel is so bad for my car I don't think I could anyway - my car gets about 7 MPG more from Shell over Tesco ordinary, or 6 MPG over Tesco Ultimate when I use Shell...

You mean Stowmarket? I thought Kesgrave or Martlesham had a garage too?
Actually yes - Stowmarket Tesco's is about 11 miles from Copdock.

EDIT - HUKD Suffolkians unite.

Tesco are not refiners of Oil - they buy their fuel from the major oil companies - the fuel Tesco sell you comes from the tanks at Shell or BP or Total or Esso or one of the other refiners. There is no difference in the fuel between the supermarkets or the oil companies - they all come from the same source (though the oil majors would like you to believe otherwise)

The additives (which may be different, but probably aren't) usually have no impact beyond safety at the pump (e.g. anti-foaming)

As quoted by others, Asda are cheaper and have been for a long time on their standard prices. Asda are 4p per litre cheaper in my area than tesco on diesel, and 3p on unleaded without having to spend in store or use a voucher so voting cold..... Tesco should be competitive without having to resort to marketing specials.

I suspect if you spent the £50 min in Tesco, you'll have paid over the odds on your groceries so the 5p discount at the pump will mean nothing.

I've tried shopping for groceries at Tesco, Sainsburys, and Morrisons at various times just to keep a balanced perspective and keep Asda in check, and i find that Asda are always significantly cheaper for the same weekly shop [branded & own brand items] than any of their competitors. I don't just mean a couple of quid either. I spend about £100/week on groceries in Asda and when I shop in the others I spend an extra £10 to £20 per week on exactly the same items. I think most of my monthly outgoings are in Asda ..... groceries, petrol, electricals, kids clothes, can't knock them....
