As far as I know it's actually beneficial for them to provide cashback as it lowers their charges to the card companies.

Sneaky tactic and a definite HUKD high five :)

I've been to Morrisons this morning, spent £14 and got £30 cashback, and didn't receive a petrol voucher..
Maybe it differentiates normal sales and cashback, and you actually have to do a full £40 cashback regardless of spend?
#31
When I asked about a petrol voucher in my local Morrisons (Erith) they didn't know anything about it......

Is this country wide?

So is the fuel voucher printed on the receipt - or how else does it work?
#33
It would be good to hear how this does work at Tesco.

Does anyone know whether cashback gives you Clubcard points? If it does, you'll be getting double clubcard points using this tactic. First on withdrawing the money, then, when you pay for your fuel with the aforementioned cashback, you present your clubcard for that purchase too! There are some double point deals around as well at the moment.

Result!

We await you Tesco shoppers for feedback.

Expired - already stated it doesn't work today and has been fixed.

Just seen this on yet another forum and states this does not work
#36
It's expired, and already reached 513 degrees. People should actually read the topic first before they vote.

Can people start expiring it, please?
#37
Some people are saying 5p off petrol ended on Sunday.

Which matches up with the expiry date (06/09/2009) on this deal -

Not so complex I'm afraid. Shops get charged on the amount of cash they bank and thus, if you can offload some of it to your customers, you reduce your cash handling charges. Years ago, supermarkets did deals wit the POS people as they could not work on a standard percentage and arranged fixed fees. Complete gain for the supermarket.

very clever! :-)

Anyone else think that Morrisons fuel is a little sub standard...??

I drive a 130bhp 1.9 tdi and find that at Esso/shell i can get 500 miles to a full tank (about £45-50 depending on price) but when i fill up at morrisons, i struggle to get 450. I know this could be anything... air pressure, what i have in the car, traffic etc... but i do think there is something in the fuel... or maybe something is missing... who knows.
